Fry Family Christmas Tree 2015

Our tree and it smells oh so good!
Our family ornament this year from our trip to Disneyland.

The kids all have Disneyland ornaments for their trees as well.
Gavin's

Mason's
Chloe's

Remember how I mentioned most of my life is in a storage unit? Well I discovered today that even more was in there. When we moved I pulled out (or at least I thought I did) my tree decorations...well I missed one and it happened to be the one that had all the kids personal ornaments in it. I packed their trees too which wasn't as big of a deal, but they (mostly Gavin) was sad that he didn't get to hang all of his on the tree. He was also begging to be the one to hang our family star ornament from last year, but it's buried in storage as well.
Along with my round cake pans, my bread pans, Mason and Gavin's brand new winter boots that were for this year and countless other things that I didn't think I would need, but am now wishing I had.
Living in this two bedroom apartment isn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it would be better if I had all of my things and the kids had their things. They are getting sick of the few toys that we left out for them so it's a good thing Christmas is around the corner so they will have something new to play with.
Well then, not sure how a post about our Christmas tree turned into a "poor me rant", so sorry about that, but I do feel better not that it's out in the open...apartment dwelling is no fun!!

Happy Day!

Christmas Tree Hunting

After pheasant hunting we loaded up the kids, sled, chainsaw, snacks and drinks then headed for the mountains. It is always so nice to get out of town and into the fresh, crisp mountain air.
We scouted out some areas for trees this summer when we were camping and knew exactly where we needed to go. There were trees for days and we had lots to choose from.
Most people pull kids in their sleds, we haul chainsaws.
Mason was sad because we wouldn't cut down the huge tree that he wanted. He didn't care that it wouldn't fit in the apartment or even the truck for that matter.
Taking a break. The snow was up to the kids knees in parts and we were going uphill so their little legs were pooped.
Gavin is really into making snow angels this year. He even made a snow devil, but Mason accidentally walked through it.
Killing time while daddy drives up the road to turn around
The fresh air was really getting to us!

On the way home we stopped at Kelly Canyon Ski Resort and went sledding down the hill. I hiked up with the kids the first run, but once we were up there the boys chickened out and didn't want to ride the sled back down so I put Chloe on with me and off we went. I'm pretty sure it was the fasted downhill sled ride I have ever been on. Chloe was hanging on for dear life. Cody ran over and stood in front of his truck by the road and ended up having to stop us because we were going so fast and went so far. It was SO MUCH FUN!!! If I would've had the energy to hike up the hill again in all my winter gear I totally would have done it again.
Gavin decided to give it a try, but he only went part way up the hill because he saw how fast Chloe and I were going.
Here comes Gavin
He made himself wreck because he didn't like how fast he was going. I guess it's better to have a cautious kid than a complete dare devil right?
I always thought the groomer made the snow look like a big Hostess Zinger.
It didn't take long for him to get over the tree
Daddy is pulling faces at her and she's entranced
Now she's doing it back

P.S. We really did get a tree, I just didn't get a picture of it yet.

Pheasant Hunting

Our friend Jason took Cody pheasant hunting for the first time and Cody came back with a prize pheasant. I don't know much about them, but this one had really good color, long tail feathers, big spurs on it's legs and was pretty good sized which basically means it's going to end up on the wall of our house.
He was so excited

I have to admit it is a really pretty bird. I had no idea that pheasants were so colorful.

P.S. Sorry about another dead bird post. Blame my husband.

Thanksgiving

We were with the Fry's this year and because there are so many of us we ended up having Thanksgiving at my in-laws church. Cherie and the girls were over the night before setting up tables and decorating them so it still seemed homey (sp?).
Cody was put in charge of the turkey's so I kept our "turkey's" entertained.
Mason was having a rough day, but Aunt Chris came to the rescue and cheered him up. She is always so sweet with him.

After dinner we played games, talked and ate pie.
That night the 5 of us went to see Hotel Transylvania 2. It was so cute. It's not very often that I like the sequels as much as the original, but I might like this one even more than the first.
(Chloe was super tired at this point and crying about everything)

SchnoWWW.ING

I was so excited when we woke up Thanksgiving morning to about 6 inches of snow. I insisted the kids get their snow clothes on ASAP and didn't even care that they still had their pajamas on. Cody got the 4 wheeler out of the garage, we hooked the sled up and off we went into the 21 degree weather. I'm pretty sure the kids all thought I was crazy, but they went along with me anyway.
First Snow Angel of the season
Pretty sure Mason was debating whether or not he should have me admitted to the crazy house
Chloe was excited with me
All loaded up and ready to go. Our other sled is in storage (story of my life right now) so I sent Cody to buy a new one the day before and we ended up with a smaller one, but it still works.

Mason and Chloe ended up on the 4 wheeler so I got on the sled with Gavin. I sat on it backwards so I could see and talk to him. This was my view as we cruised around the neighborhood
Absolutely LOVING the smile on that kids face. I love making my kids happy.

Pie Night

I ended up working late and didn't get off in time to go to Pie Night at Schneider's like we do every year so I had Cody keep the kids up and when I got off we loaded the kids up pajamas and all and had our own pie night at Shari's.

We also ended up order Hot Cocoa because it was so cold outside. The kids ended up filling up on the cocoa and we ended up getting to go boxes for all 3 pieces of their pie.

Life of Fry - November Issue

We went to Scotty's for milkshakes for one of our Fat FRYday's
Playing Mario Kart topless
I was helping my mom with some genealogy at her house and my mom gave Chloe a couple of extra sheets. Chloe has been doing her own genealogy for days.
Chloe and I spent Black Friday doing dishes, sweeping, mopping and doing laundry. It wasn't as fun but it was a lot cheaper.
Chloe has to kiss baby Jesus on the cheek every time after preschool

CRAZY KIDS SLEEING
As I was catching up I noticed that I have a lot of pictures of my kids sleeping crazy the past couple of months, especially Chloe. I don't know what it is, but she is all over the place now. She use to go to bed and stay in bed in a normal position, but ever since we moved to the apartment she is all over the place!

Enjoy!
Gavin discovered my "blinders" as Cody calls them and wore them for a few nights.

These two ended up in the same bed
Mason was headed head first out of bed.
On his bed backwards with his foot just chilling up in the air

The rest is all Chloe. She is pretty much like this every night, but I don't always take a picture
Her legs are hanging over the edge
Her feet are hanging over the end of the bed
She's clear down at the end of the bed. I will put her head back up at the top and she wakes up long enough to scoot back down.
Feet hanging off
Laying on the floor
Not sure what she's doing with her arms here
On the floor again
Sleeping sideways, legs hanging off
Middle of the bed with her legs hanging off
