Major League Pitcher in Training

Future MLB pitcher? from Teri Fry on Vimeo.

As you can see, Gavin was continually grabbing/readjusting himself just like the pitchers in Major League Baseball. We were laughing so hard. Quinton was even laughing at him. He has never done that before, especially that much and we couldn't figure out what was going on.

Gavin ran around the corner and his diaper fell off, that explains everything! I guess he wasn't practicing for MLB!

New best friends! Quinton and Gavin
They are teaching us all about "Water boarding"
It doesn't look like torture to me!

Memorial Day Camping

We went camping for the Memorial Day Weekend just like half the world, but we had a good time. It was our first time out this year.
Cody and Gavin were out in the back yard(our garden is not obviously in yet) the night before digging up "snakes" (worms) so they could do some fishing.

We went up to Fall Creek. We found a spot, but decided to keep looking because it was kind of small so we left the camper there and all piled into Erin's car to keep looking. We found a nice big spot up the road so Gavin and I stayed behind and held the new and better spot on a couple of camping chairs. We got a couple of double takes when people would drive by and see a mom and toddler sitting in the middle of a camp spot with no tent.

Cody and Gavin did some reading while we waited for everyone else to get up there. Notice Gavin's paper is sideways! He's very talented!
As you can see, Erin and I had a few problems setting up the tent. Actually we had it all set up and before we staked it down the wind blew it over with us in it! For a minute we thought it was Cody ditching the tent on us.

It was Caitlyn's first time camping, we had to take a picture.

The "Men" getting firewood. They threw a rope across the creek to Carl who tied it to the tree and they (Cody, dad & Paul) pulled it across the creek...
... or at least tried to. It ended up in the creek so Cody went after it.
After much pulling they finally got it out.
Dragging it back to camp
This was also Paul and Erin's first time camping since they got married.
Gavin with grandma's hat and daddy's homemade hillbilly shovel.
You can't really tell from the picture, but Sunday afternoon it was a down pour so we all decided to call it quits and came home. Three days and two nights was enough!
My dirty little boy! He's going to need multiple baths to get clean!

Mother's Day

I try to get a picture with Gavin and I every Mother's Day. However
I usually forget until the end of the day and by then it's pretty much useless.
These are what we ended up with!
Happy Mother's Day to me!

Fun Weekend!!!

It was Uncle Torrey's birthday on Friday so we all went bowling to celebrate. Gavin got to bowl for the first time and he loved it! He kept wanting to cut in and bowl even when it wasn't his turn. Our friends invited us to go to Baby Animal Day in Blackfoot. It was surprisingly a lot of fun. We got to go on a wagon ride, watch a horse being shoed(?), watched bees make honey and lots of other fun stuff.
They had a petting zoo and Gavin wasn't even scared to go in and pet them, except for the calves. He went in the pen with them and then one of them mooed and he ran out and wouldn't go back in!
The baby pigs were his favorite, he kept going in over and over. He didn't care to much about the baby ducks or chicks.

He kept going through the maze over and over again.
This had us all laughing. That's a swimming pool full of corn kernels instead of sand, thank goodness! However, we went swimming at the Blackfoot Pool afterwards and I thought I had all the corn gone, but I was wrong. Everytime I would take another piece of clothing off another corn kernel would fall to the floor. He even had some in his diaper.
On Sunday, Mother's Day, we got to see both grandma's and hang out with cousin's on both sides. Gavin had a fun weekend!

I love Ghost Towns!

I have always wanted to go to a real Ghost Town so when we were trying to decide what to do for our anniversary I suggested Virginia City, so we went and I loved it! The town has a really interesting history that is too long to blog about, but you should Google it. It was kind of creepy, especially up on Boot Hill where they buried the men that were hung in the town, but the old buildings were so fascinating to me. The only paved road is the highway that runs right through the middle of town, the rest of them are dirt. There are still almost 200 people that live there (compared to around 10,000 back in the day). OK, enough about that, enjoy the pictures!

My Little Photographer

Gavin has discovered that our digital camera has a screen and he likes to look at the pictures when I'm done taking the picture. He has even somehow figured out how to take the pictures. He kept wanting to carry my camera around, but I just got it for Christmas and didn't want something to happen to it so I gave my old one to him. I was cleaning the house (a forever ongoing project) and picked up my old camera. Just out of curiosity I turned it on and these were the pictures I found:
The Carpet
The light in the living room
Part of the entertainment center and wall
Add Image
More of the entertainment center
The light in our bedroom
My terribly messy closet
(I almost didn't post this one because it's so messy. Don't judge me!)
A view of the dining room from the couch
The ceiling and the shadow of the fan
Back door
A view from his crib. I don't know how or why he had the camera in his crib, but apparently he did.
