Life....

 My babies!!
This picture kills me and is one of those a-picture-says-a-thousand-words pictures. Mason does not hold still, he's always on the move and rarely looks at the camera. Gavin is always looking at the camera with a big cheesy grin and Chloe, oh Chloe, she does NOT like headbands and doesn't understand that I have been waiting years for a baby girl and secondly, look at that belly!! She has the hugest fat rolls and the chubbiest legs, I LOVE IT!!
Thumb, check. Burp cloth, check. Time for a quick nap
 Handsome Boy
 Snacking on a snake, delicious!!
Hanging out with mom at the computer
This is Melvin. He is the neighbor boy across the street and he is always wanting to rake my leaves, weed my flower beds and shovel the snow off my driveway, but he won't do any of it for his mom and it drives her CRAZY, but I'm not complaining one bit ; )
Mason getting some practice for next summer
I promise Mason does not live in his high chair, but seriously it is about the only time I can get him to sit still long enough to get a picture of those beautiful brown eyes!!
 One Happy Momma!!
Taking the dog to the park to play
 A day's supply!
Not really, but sometimes I feel like it. Gavin was extra excited to show me his castle that he built out of all the boxes
Gavin and Chloe in their new pj's
Mason didn't want to sit with them
 My matching boys!
Thanks again Sherri, the pj's are so cute!
Cheesin it in her Urkel pants
Look quick, she has a bow!
Gavin the super awesome big brother. He takes his role seriously and is such a GREAT helper too!!

We are figuring it out and getting use to each other and our new lives. I'm learning what they like/dislike. What makes them giggle uncontrollably and what upsets them. I'm figuring out food likes/dislikes and how they like to go down for naps and to bed. It's a lot to take in for these two and they have been little troopers even though everything for the most part is all new to them.

Gavin is adjusting well too. He has his moments, but we all do. We have been extra careful to make sure he is getting all the attention he needs and not change his routine too much either. Honestly the transition has been a lot easier than we had anticipated and we are thankful for that and we hope it continues to go this smooth. ; )

Gavin has been asking about Halloween for weeks and after we got the pumpkins it was a few days before we could carve them. He couldn't wait to do it, but when it finally came down to it, he wanted nothing to do with touching "the guts" of the pumpkins. Cody and I did it all.
Cody would make gross noises as he pull the insides out and have Gavin laughing so hard
If Chloe could talk she would say:
"I am not amused!"
Chloe's pumpkin, Cody even added a string of snot to it to make it more realistic!
 Mason with his pumpkin
The only time Gavin touched anything but the outside of the pumpkin
He picked out the face himself and then make me carve it
The end result
Mason's, Chloe's and Gavin's Pumpkins

Cody's Birthday!

Cody LOVES Orange Leaf so the kids and I took him there for his birthday
  Happy Birthday Sweetheart!
Chloe wasn't sure about it at first
Gavin ate EVERY bit of his, he's an addict like his daddy
 Yummy!
 Mommy and Mason
We had cake and icecream with family the next night
I LOVE the look on Cody's face!! It's hilarious!
Make a Wish!

An official M-V-M!! (with a side of puke)

All I can think of right now as I write this post is

"Resistance is Futile, you will be assimilated"
and
"Luke, come to the dark side".

Now let me explain. It was pretty tough fitting 3 carseats in to the back seat of my Honda Accord, add a diaper bag, stoller, etc. and there was literally no room to breath. So we began our search for a bigger vehicle. I really wanted a Nissan Armada, but reading the reviews it said "atrocious gas mileage". I thought to myself, it can't be that bad, but sure enough, it got 9 (that's right 9) measly miles in town and a whopping 13 on the highway...ok so it really is atrocious.

So the hunt continued. We spent lots of time on the internet researching and even more time driving around car lots in town looking at potential possibilities. We decided we needed a 7 seater so that if we had an extra niece or nephew, which we frequently do, we would have the space and that narrowed our search as well. We looked at Suburbans, Pilots, Expeditions, you name it and we looked at it, except minivans,

I DID NOT WANT A MINIVAN!!

Saturday morning Cody went out on his own and brought home a Nissan Pathfinder which is like an Armada, but smaller, a lot smaller! I felt claustrophobic sitting in the front seat. There wasn't much room for anything. Cody took it back and I told him to hurry because we were suppose to be in Rigby in about 30 min. He made it back on time, but IN A MINIVAN!!!  I couldn't believe it!! A MINIVAN??   The salesman sent it with Cody for us to drive to Rigby in. If we weren't going to be late I would have made him take it back, but I had no choice so we loaded up the kids and their car seats...and it was SO EASY. It wasn't too tall for short little me AND thanks to the captains chairs I could easily get to Gavin in the 3rd row seat without having to collapse the second row seat AND it was so spacious!! I couldn't believe it, but I was still skeptical.

Cody made me drive which I was hesitant at first, but I did and it was so smooth. I was very impressed, so guess what:
That's right I am now officially a "MINIVAN MOM" (M.V.M) I'm still trying to get use the the idea myself and still find myself occasionally cringing at the thought. All these years I swore off a minivan and now I drive one, but what can I say except it's practical and easy. One day I will own something more exciting and easier on the eyes, but for now, this works.

And now for the exciting story of the purchase!!!

We showed up at the dealership straight from Rigby so we had all 3 kids. It was suppose to be quick and easy because Cody already bartered a price over the phone so all we had to do was paperwork. What transpired over the next 1 1/2 hours is a scene from Friday the 13th.

We are in Tyler's office BEGINNING the paperwork (which is as ridiculous as all my charting I have to do as a nurse) when Mason comes cruising in and falls hitting his face on the floor and instantly gets a bloody nose. Cody picks him up not realizing he is bleeding and Cody got blood all over his sleeve and pants. I hand Chloe to Cody and talk Mason (in my very white shirt) to the bathroom to clean him up.

We get into the bathroom and as I sit Mason on the sink he sneezes splattering my shirt, neck, face (basically everything from the waist up) in blood (my very white shirt is now polk-a-dot). The front of his own shirt is bloody by now too. I'm trying to console him, but at the same time stop the bleeding which he won't let me do. Every time I would get near his face he would push my hand away and use his own hand and sleeve on himself so I just rocked him and rubbed his back over the sink so all the blood dripped in there. Gavin followed me in the bathroom and was asking question after question and I of course he wouldn't go back to his dad.

After a few minutes that seemed like an eternity Mason calmed down and the bleeding finally stopped. I got him cleaned up the best I could with water and paper towels and took him back to Cody so I could clean myself up as well as the murder scene in the bathroom

I get back to the office and in the meantime Chloe had puked down Cody's shirt so he too was covered in little person bodily fluids. By the time I got the bathroom and myself cleaned up the best it could be it was dinner time and the kids were letting us know. I couldn't leave because I didn't have a vehicle so I got some raisins and granola bars out of the diaper bag. Another salesman brought Gavin what was left of his Chili Cheese Fritos. Toddlers + raisins +fritos+granola bars= huge mess.  If that wasn't an incentive to hurry his butt up with the paperwork I don't know what was!

By the time we were done the office had blood (thank goodness for dark carpet), spit up, Fritos, raisins and granola bar all over in it. I went back while Cody was buckling the kids in and cleaned most of it up, but I was never so glad to be out of somewhere and I'm sure they were just as relived to have us gone!!

We got back to our house and it didn't end. Paul and Erin (my bro and sis-in-law) were there with their newish twins and by the time they left for the night Brigham puked on my neck, which ran down my shirt and settled in my bra, Paul was in one of Cody's shirts (again due to puking) and Erin had to take off her sweatshirt!! What a day. All we could do was sit here and half laugh and half cry because of everything that just happened. These are the moments.....

First Snowman of the Year

It snowed a lot yesterday! While the babies were napping Gavin and I made a snowman. It was actually a snowgirl since we gave her pigtails. Her eyes were plums, her nose was a stick and her mouth was made from apples that we found while on a treasure hunt in our backyard.

Time for hot cocoa with marshmallows!

New Mom of 3-Week 2

We have ongoing pranks with quite a few people. This week my bro and sis-in-law decided to leave Cody some Batman underwear on his truck. I couldn't let them go to waste so I put them on and modeled them for the kids. I was pulling faces and dancing and the kids were laughing hysterically. Gavin (taking after his mom) said he wanted to take a picture and of course I let him. This was the result!

Apparently books make great pillow!
Chloe was eating the Cheerios off the floor that Mason was dropping! Good thing the floor was just mopped
No one else is allowed to feed Chloe if Gavin is in the room
Trying to get to my broom, again! : )

Chloe is 9 months!

Chloe turned 9 months old on Oct. 1st.

I'm not sure what she weighs or how tall she is, but this is what I do know:

She has 1 1/2 teeth, both on the bottom front. The one on the right is still coming in.

When she lays on the floor, it's usually on her side so it looks like she is posing for a picture

She can't crawl on her knees yet, but she can break land speed records with her army crawl scoot that she does

Her laugh is HILARIOUS and CONTAGIOUS! My niece said it best when she said that Chloe laughs like a Youtube baby!

Hoarders, Take One

No, this in not a scene from the show "Hoarders", but it feels like it.

Thursday, the previous foster parents brought us all of Mason and Chloe's things and it ended up in my living room at the front door. (Did I mention that we outgrew our car AND house overnight?) Thursday night was the Welcome Party and all the goodies from that ended up in the rest of my living room. I have also not really had a chance to keep up on my dishes and laundry since I have two extra babies so when I woke up Friday morning to three kids and a house that would qualify for Hoarders I felt a little overwhelmed. I got diapers changed, teeth brushed, kids dressed (Gavin dressed himself without me even having to ask) and breakfast was through.  By now it was 11:30am. I hadn't showered, brushed my teeth, dishes were still piled up and I was starving because I hadn't had 2 seconds to eat.

Also earlier that day Mason had gotten a hold of a Batman sticker that Gavin loves and has had since a friends birthday party clear back in July. Mason crumpled it and ripped it a little. Gavin brought it to me and said "Mason just ruined my sticker".  His bottom lip came out, he dropped to his knees and started crying which of course broke my heart but I was in the middle of feeding Chloe a bottle and couldn't do much consoling at the time. I gave him a hug when I was through and I explained to him that it was an accident and that Mason is to little to know any better. We made the top of his dresser his "special place" for him to put all his "special stuff" that he doesn't want the babies to get into. He is just use to being able to leave his things around and nothing happens to them.

Cody had his company BBQ and I needed to be ready by 12:30.  He walked in the door and knew I was only about 2 degrees from having a meltdown. He kissed me on the forehead,
got me something to eat and then took over with the kids so that I could go get ready.

We made it to the BBQ right on time and I even played some golf for the first time in years and quickly remembered why I don't play it more often! I pretty much stink with capital "S".

To clarify, I really am doing fine and while I am extra busy going from 1 to 3 kids, it's great. I just hate clutter and messes and I would've felt the same way with or without the kids. I got the mess cleaned up (FINALLY) late Saturday night and life is good now : ) We are getting a routine down and I even braved the grocery store with all three kids!! Whoo hoo for me!

Welcome Party!

Our first unofficial family photo

My girlfriend Chelsea threw us a Welcome Mason and Chloe Party!
It was so much fun and we were overwhelmed (in a good way) by all of the people that came to meet our new little ones. Friends that we haven't seen for months, family and lots of ward members came. It was so good to catch up with everyone. I didn't get pics of everyone, but you can see from the collage how blessed we are! We also couldn't believe the generosity! It was a come-and-meet-the-kids-no-need-for-a-gift type party, but gift after gift came and we are so thankful!

Chelsea and I

Chelsea went above and beyond. There was soup, rolls, desserts, decorations, the works! She lined up people to help with food and got word out. I feel bad because I forgot to recognize her and tell her Thank You at the party (I don't like to be the center of attention, especially in large groups) so I'm publicly doing it now, Thank You Chelsea for all of your hard work, you are amazing!!
