Gavin's 2nd Birthday Party!

Twilight Party

My friend Chelsea threw a super fun Twilight Party on Friday night. It was a room full of 13 crazy women and we all had a blast! A few of us had Twilight Shirts and Chelsea had red apples and posters all over her family room with "mood" lighting.
There was lots of yummy food, a fun Twilight Jeopordy game, and lots of "girl talk."
This was our group pic. Notice the apples, pretty darn clever, eh?
Our goofy picture!
We all crammed in Sara's Tahoe to go check out the party @ Barnes & Noble. We were pretty illegal when it came to our seat belt use, but hey, we had fun!
They had face painting there so Liz, Nikki, Tiffany & I had bite marks painted on our necks.
Isn't this a super cute picture? Sara & Gina opted for designs instead of the bite marks, but they were equally as fun.

We made "Twilight" necklaces while we were there too; this was mine. From there we went to Wal-Mart and stood in a crazy line for about 20 minutes, bought our DVD's and then went back to Chelsea's to watch and drool. It was after 3 am when I finally got home, but it was well worth it, we all had a great time.

Mud Bath!

Believe it or not this is actually soap that I am smearing all over my son. It's a Crayola safari bath kit and the soap actually looks like mud. When I first started smearing it on him, Gavin looked at me like I was crazy. I'm sure he was thinking, "I thought I was suppose to be getting clean!" Once he realized it was OK he had a lot of fun with it.

He even wanted more to put all over himself!

It obviously turned the water to "mud" and everything he touched had "mud" on it. If you look closely you can see where he touched the wall and the bar of soap. Even though this "mud" was soap I still had to drain the tub and give him a "real" bath with "real" soap because he still seemed dirty to me, but he didn't care since bathing is one of his favorite things!

Overnighter @ Grandma and Grandpa's

Cody painted my parent's kitchen this weekend and rather than leave Friday night only to be back first thing Saturday morning we decided just to stay the night and save ourselves the trip. It was pretty weird sleeping at my parent's house, especially since it's been almost 7 years since I was last there overnight. As you can see my mom didn't waste anytime breaking child labor laws. She had Gavin cleaning the windows and he is not even 2 yet!

We put the toddler bed mattress on the floor next to the bed Cody and I slept in. He was off of it more than he was on it. I guess that answers our question about whether or not he gets a big boy bed for his birthday. Grandma is trying to brainwash him and had him watching The Brave Little Toaster. What a bizarre show. My brother-in-law Chet really likes it and now that answers a lot of lingering questions I had about him and his love of skunk smell. ; )

He also had a bath while he was there because his sipper lid wasn't on all the way and it dumped juice all over him and me so we were both pretty sticky. He went streaking before I could get him dressed again. He ran straight to the miniature trampoline and then ended up on the couch. I figured this one was OK to post since his manhood is covered up. It was fun being back home and having a yummy Saturday morning breakfast.
P.S. Mom, I'm just kidding about the brainwashing and child labor law thing, I love ya and I just have to give you a hard time!

True Friends

Can you believe it?
Oliver is out grilling ribs just for us in a blizzard!
What a stud!
It's hard to find such a selfless good-looking friend with so much grit, determination, compassion, devotion and FROSTBITE! (How's that for talking you up Oliver?)
Seriously, thanks, they were awesome!
Let's do it again...next snowstorm!

Is that what I think it is?

Is that what I think it is? Nooo, it can't be! It is!!! Aaaaahhh! A gray hair! A BIG HUGE gray hair! Just months after turning 30 I have been hit. Who knew it would have happened so soon! I don't dare pull it because unfortunately I am sometimes a bit superstitious and I have heard that when you pull one gray hair two more come back, thank goodness for Sharpie markers! J/K There is one glimpse of hope though. I have always wanted white (not gray) hair when I turn 90 years old and this one hair was actually white, not gray so there may be a happy ending after all it just started 60 years to soon!

A Storytime that brought tears to my eyes!

I came home the other day and the house was really quiet so I wandered around looking for "My Boys" and this is what I found. What a perfectly sweet moment. It's times like these that you wish you could freeze forever. I am so grateful that we were chosen to be Gavin's birth parents. I can't even imagine what life would be like without him and vaguely remember how we spent our days before we had him. I LOVE being a mom, his mom and I love that I can be a witness to something so sweet as this. Like I said before, it was a storytime that brought tears to my eyes, tears of joy! I love you Baby G, Momma Bear!
