Life of Fry

We went to Big Hero 6 with my brother and his family a couple of weeks ago at Fat Cats in Rexburg.
Gavin and Mason
Bailey, Tayvri, Erin, Brigham and Paul
Chloe and I
My little reader reading away. He finished this book over the weekend.
Mason is thankful for:
-dog
-grandma and grandpa
-Jesus
-food

I'm not surprised that we are not on there. He told me the other day he wanted a "Magic Potion" from Santa that would turn Cody and I "into dust". He doesn't want to have to clean his room or brush his teeth anymore so that's his solution. If we come up missing please sweep up any dust you see and don't throw it away, call Santa immediately and ask for Magic un-dusting Potion!
You let a kid put a couple of fake tattoos on his arms and all of the sudden he is the strongest man alive! (and the skinniest!)
He has been "working out" a lot lately. Cody showed him the right way to do push-ups and sit-ups and he's been practicing.
Chloe learned how to do a "headstand"
Who needs more than one stroller when you can stack 'em up and strap them in
Taking a break from their morning of jumping

I love that Gavin is in my big, pink, fluffy slippers!!
Making cookies with mom
His favorite part
"Look at me mom! Where's Mason?"
I love picking this guy up from school. He is always so happy to see me and I am so happy to see him : )
We didn't make it to Casper for the weekend like we had planned because of the road conditions, but we still made it to see Mockingjay Part 1 with these crazy people

Cody and I, Liz and Oliver, Steve and Amanda (in the back)
and Beymax in the way back!
This is what Mason and Chloe did pretty much the entire time during Gavin's last basketball game and I pretty much just let them so that they were occupied and I could watch Gavin play.
My apple pie filling I made : )

F.N.G.W.

Flashlight Nerf Gun Wars or as Gavin calls it:
Nerf Gun Wars, Last Man Standing

I pack up 2/3 of the kids toys at a time and rotate them every few months so they always have "new" toys to play with and so the toy room doesn't get so overwhelmingly messy when they decide to dump everything out. This rotation the nerf guns came out and the boys were SO EXCITED!! They haven't had any interest in them in the past. We (the whole family) decide to play together. At first we were on teams and then we decided every man for himself...and guess who one, Chloe. Yep, the three year old girl with a single shot gun and 1 bullet!!
We were all so busy shooting each other (when you get shot you have to "die" on the floor until the game is over) that no one paid any attention to her. Gavin shot Mason, Cody shot Gavin and I shot Cody. I was celebrating because I thought I had won until I felt Chloe shoot me in the gut leaving her the winner!! It was so funny, we all got beat by a 3 year old!

The boys and their guns
Gavin wanted a picture of the dart that ended up stuck in the curtain.
Later on we got a little more creative. We taped flashlights to all of the guns and shut all the lights in the house off. Talk about a blast! We had so much fun and ended up loosing track of time and the kids went to bed way past their bedtime and we ended up playing it the next night as well. It's a new favorite at our house.
Dead man, dead man, please come alive before I count to the number 5!
1.2.3.4.5!!

His daddy let him wear his hat that has a built-in light right in the bill. He was pretty excited about it

Oh Christmas Tree

We went up about Kelly Canyon Ski Resort to get our Christmas tree this year. As soon as the kids got out of the truck they climbed up on this rock and Chloe said, "mom, take a picture".
They were so excited to get to play in the snow they didn't even care they had to climbed up a hill. All the snow has melted down in the valley.
Deciding between a few trees.
Front row (20ish feet back) watching daddy cut down the tree.

Isn't she a beauty? I wish I had ceilings tall enough that it would fit without having to trim any of it off.
The kids wanted to stay and play in the snow
They made an "Olaf" that we left on the side of the road for other people to enjoy. They are SCREAMING "Olaf" here instead of "cheese"
We lost two of the larger fluffy branches when we had to trim it down (bummer) but it's still pretty stinkin' cute. I love the fresh cut, yummy smelling imperfect Christmas trees!

Thanksgiving 2014

Thanksgiving wouldn't be complete without our annual trip to the Schnieder's for Pie Night.
Pie Night: Eating as much pie as your belly can hold the night before Thanksgiving so you can enjoy it and actually have room for it. There are always at least 20 different types of pies to try every year. This year we even tried an apple pie that didn't have any apples in it. It was a Faux apple pie that had zucchini instead of apples, but you couldn't even tell the difference.
Chloe and Mason with some of their pie samples.
The morning of Thanksgiving Cody met the Elders and young men (groups from our church) to play in the First Annual Turkey Bowl. The Elders (old men) ended up beating the young men (ages 12-18). Cody said it was because he and his friend Steve M. had a secret play called the "Fat Man Special" that scored them two touchdowns.

It was our year at my parents and everyone was there : )
Karen, Chet and Dad
(we are Pepsi lovers if you didn't notice)
Mom (the only diet choke coke drinker), Erin, Tayvri, Brigham and Paul
Taylor, Kenny, me and Cody
Mandy was in the kitchen at the kids table (by choice)

My mom even got out her China. The table was so pretty!!
(then we filled it all up with food and then it just looked delicious)

After we ate we all laid around in our turkey comas watching football and going back for 2nds, 3rds, pies, etc.

Apple Apple Apple Pies

I bought a box of Washington Apples from another nurse that I work with and there was no way we were going to eat all of them so I made/canned about a dozen quarts of apple pie filling. We used a few of them right away to make apple pies for Thanksgiving.
Each of the kids had their own pie they got to make. They all giggled as the filling came out of the jar and into the pie shell because according to them it sounded like "farting" and then "poop plopping". (Am I the only one with boys that are obsessed with farting and pooping?)
I have no idea why Gavin has that look on his face, but I had to keep the picture, it's hilarious!
Mason wanted a picture with his pie
Pie making time
Cody got really creative and made an apple for one of the pie crusts
Mason's "sun" pie
Chloe and Cody's pie
(we didn't hear the timer go off, oops!)

Mason's Thanksgiving Feast

Mason had a Thanksgiving Feast at preschool. His assignment was to bring a can of fruit cocktail. He was so proud carrying it into his preschool and giving it to his teacher.
When we got there Onda K was dressed as an Indian, the kids were all so excited. They listened to Indian music and sang Indian songs (while Mason covered his ears).
Then she read the kids a story about a little Indian boy named "Two Feet"
Then they learned all about the pilgrims, the Mayflower and Christopher Columbus. She let the kids pick if they wanted to be pilgrims or Indians. Then they re-enacted the pilgrims coming to the Americas and the first Thanksgiving with the Indians.
(Mason is standing next to a 3 year old and the other two are 4 like Mason, he's so tiny!)
My niece Madisen and her friend Shiah
My little Indian Mason.
They had turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, fruit cocktail, rolls and pumpkin pie
He wanted his feather in the front
My sister was horrified that Madisen wore her hot pink boots with her red dress, I think it's pretty stinking cute and such a kid thing to do ; )
