Cancun Day 3 - Isla Mujeres

Today we took a 40 minute ferry ride to Isla Mujeres.
The weather looks terrible but it was actually so warm. If the wind wouldn't have been blowing it would've been perfect.

The Federales heard Raini and I were in town, but lucky for us the ferry got us out of there before they could find us.
Again, the wind was a little crazy, but it was still so warm.
We made it! The first thing we did was go to Dolphin Discovery. We were able to SWIM WITH THE DOLPHINS, REAL, ACTUAL DOLPHINS! The first one was Daniella. and then we had Lolly. We kissed them and they kissed our checks,we rubbed their backs as they swam by (they were rubbery feeling), they opened their mouths so we could touch their teeth, we held our arms out and they jumped up and touched our hands with their noses and they gave us handshakes.
We also were able to swim out into the water away from the docks with them. They would swim up behind us and if we held our right arm straight out to our side they would swim up to us on that side, flip over on their backs and we could grab onto their fins and they would give us a piggy back ride back to the dock.
We all had Daniella for that except me. I was out in the water with Cody and it was his turn. Daniella took Cody part way and then she went a little bit crazy and was throwing a fit (I guess that's what you would call it). She was swimming and jumping and splashing and not really listening to her trainer and I was in the water in the middle of it all, but wasn't ever scared.
They brought out Lolly after that and I rode her back in. They second time out I had a boogy board. You just had to hand onto it and once your straightened your legs that was her signal. She would put her nose on the arch of your foot and push you back to the dock.  It was SURREAL and SO MUCH FUN!! I would have loved to get pictures of the experience because it was absolutely amazing, but they were $150!!! So they are just going to have to be memories that are stuck in my head.
After we got out of our swimsuits we had lunch and this was our view. This is also where Cody discovered Lime Sprite. It was so sweet and just plain delicious. I drank most of his and then ended up ordering my own when he got a refill. I've recreated it at home, but it has to be the bottled Spite that's made in Mexico and you squeeze an entire lime into it, so good!
We also saw this crazy statue and tried our best to recreate it.
We couldn't get the dolpin out of the water, but I think Cody and I did a pretty good job, ha ha!

Scott's interpretation was a little off!
Sea Lions

We also got to get in the manatee habitat with them. They ate lettuce right out of our hands and we got to touch them. Their skin was really rough in parts and slimy on the other. They are so big! I guess that why they call them sea cows.

This is a picture of where we were from their website.
They were really crazy about you have a camera and/or taking pictures. The above picture is one I took while we were waiting for the ferry. It's as close at they would let you get with a camera. The three pictures below are from their website.

Chillaxin in the sun while we waited for the ferry.

We had to take a second one because Cody had our glasses front and center in the first one.
Always trying to grab a boob!

Coconuts
Besties!
It was so pretty there!
Raini my personal photo bomber!!
Cody disappeared and came back with a coconut for us to share

The port as we were leaving
Headed back to Cancun
The ferry ride back was a crazy one. People were dancing and singing and just going crazy. We didn't get involved, but it was so much fun to people watch.
On the bus back to the resort. They were so colorful
Scott and Cody were so intrigued by the lack of OSHA regulations. Just look at the scaffolding. I'm pretty sure these guys don't even know what OSHA is.

When we got back to the resort we at at Wok (Asian Cuisine), but all of us left there hungry and we ended up going to the Tequila (Mexican/International food) and having our second dinner there. After dinner we headed outside for the nightly show. Cody, Scott and Rob/1994/South Carolina ended up on stage dancing with the ladies. The video is hilarious!! Raini and I were laughing so hard.

When they were done they had performers from Brazil and they were amazing to watch. I can't believe some of the things they can do!
