Cody had to go to take his test at 8am in Pocatello so we decided to take a little Mini Vacation while we were at it (this is mostly for journaling purposes and may be extremely boring so just skip to the bottom for the Grand Finale!) . I only have one picture that I took once we got home because the rule was no camera and no cell phones the entire time. We were getting away from everything!
Extreme Makeover Home Edition came to Pocatello last fall and we actually signed up as volunteers to help, but the response was so overwhelming that they didn't need us, we were pretty bummed. We drove by, a couple of times, to see it and it was so BIG and literally looked like something out of the movies. It didn't really fit in the neighborhood, but it was awesome and fun to actually get to see it in real life instead of on T.V.
We had dinner at Johnny B. Good's which is a cute little 50's hamburger place I use to go to all the time when I was going to school at I.S.U. If you order there 50's burger it's comes in a 1950's car so I got one so Gavin could have a car. They have really YUMMY shakes too!
We checked into our hotel and then went and did some swimming and soaking in the hot tub, it was wonderful!! One of these days I'm going to own a hot tub, but until then I'll just continue to sneak into the neighbors when they are not home....totally kidding! Back in the room we were flipping through the channels and found a documentary on chocolate and found out that Joseph Fry molded the first ever chocolate bar suitable for widespread consumption! They later merged with Cadbury and the joint company was called British Cocoa and Chocolate Company. Post-it notes were also invented by a man named Art Fry...who would have thought.
Saturday morning Cody was gone before Gavin and I got up so we went and ate breakfast and then went, you guessed it, swimming! Gavin would live in the pool if we had one. We swam until we were wrinkly raisins.
After Cody got back we took Gavin to McKee's Petting Zoo to see the the camel (that is no longer there) so we looked at the other animals. We also found out that Gavin is afraid of chicken's. They just wonder around there and he didn't even want to go outside as soon as he saw them so Cody carried him for a while until he got use to them. We found a big Ugly donkey that let out the longest, loudest Hee Haa that I have ever heard! We were laughing so hard! Something you totally had to be there to understand, but trust me is was awesomely hilarious!
Then we headed home on the old highway just for the fun of it so we could drive through all the little towns along the way. We topped off the night by going to Happy's for dinner and then the cheap seats for a movie. It was a nice, relaxing, fun weekend!!
And now for the Grand Finale...(scroll down)

Congrats! That is awesome! And so fun to do a mini vacation in Pocatello! That is too bad they didn't need your help volunteering-I heard about that. I guess my sister-in-law knows the people. Very cool!
