Gavin and I on Mother's Day.
I take a picture of the two of us every year and you would think by now I would remember to take it sometime other than right before bedtime so Gavin is not always so sleepy!

I got some pumpkin seeds from the Fed Ex man at work and they are supposedly the offspring of last year's Eastern Idaho State Fair pumpkin contest winner, we'll see! Gavin and I planted them last Monday. He had to wear gloves like mom even though they were huge on him.

Wednesday we did Yoga for Relief Society and I LOVED it! I use to do it all the time and somehow it just got bumped out of my schedule and I didn't realize how much I missed it until I was doing it again. I came home and found my old yoga VHS, yes I said VHS, and DVD and I'm ready to go again. According to Cody I even have Yoga on my Wii!

On Friday we planted our garden. I'm excited this year because we are both done with school and will have more time to weed it and take care of it. Our garden has been somewhat neglected for the past couple of years. We planted tomatoes, onions, pumpkins, beets, peas, green beans and potatoes. Our raspberry patch is also taking off like crazy this year, yipee!
Friday night I left the boys to fend for themselves and went to "Letter's to Juliet" with the girls. We can never get our husbands to go to chick flicks with us so we leave them behind! It was pretty good, but it was kind of slow and predictable. I wish I wouldn't have watched the previews so much because it probably would have been better.

Saturday: What a busy, but fun day!
We started off standing in a crazy long line to get our Bountiful Basket and because Gavin was so good we stopped at the park on the way home and let him play on the slides for about an hour. We came home and had lunch which included a yummy watermelon from our basket and then headed to the river to do some fishing.

Gavin stared out with his fishing pole, but decided that daddy's was more fun and they ended up switching. Neither of them ended up catching any fish because the river was so high, but it was still fun. The weather was B-E-A-utiful so it was nice just being outside.
On the way home we passed the fire station and they had their old 1930's ladder truck out washing it up and getting it ready for parades and car shows. We pulled over so that Gavin could have a look. The fire fighters were so nice. They invited us into the fire station and offered to slide down the pole for Gavin and even told him he could climb into the new firetruck and look around, but he declined all of it, he just wanted to play with the extension cord that was hanging from the ceiling for the ambulance to plug into. They even got him his own little sticker badge and he didn't want to wear it, he was such a little stinker! I guess we should have taken him to the airport instead.

Sunday-Another beautiful day!
We headed to my parents that afternoon and just hung out and talked on the back patio. I miss living in the country and not being surrounded by neighbors every where you look. You can see for miles from their back patio, and it's so quiet!!
We also had our monthly Butikofer Birthday Bash at my grandma and grandpa's which wouldn't be complete without a good old game of cellar ball. It was boys against girls, but we didn't really keep score so I'm not sure who won.
Gavin even sweet talked my Uncle Keith into a couple of rides on the four wheeler, which he loved. They rode out to the cows to see the calves.

These are our pumpkins! We only planted them a week ago and they are growing like crazy! I took this picture this morning and I bet the plants have grown almost another inch today and I'm not even kidding! I planted about 20 of them not knowing if they were going to grow and they all are. I only have room for 3-4 plants so if anyone wants some award winning pumpkin plants let me know and I'll get them to you!

Mystery Mondays
We are still doing them, I have just been a slacker about putting my recipes on my blog! Hopefully I will be better about it!

busy family! i hope you have a giant pumpkin this fall!
That is fun you take picture every year on Mother's Day! What a good idea! And good-luck on your pumpkins! That is fun you guys do that!
And I am SO sorry about the sheet cake. I fixed the recipe and did a comment on my blog. It does call for 1 cup water and will make a huge difference. I doubled checked everything so now it should work. Thanks for letting me know!
