Cody's Birthday

Duck Hunting season opened on his birthday so he woke up at 3:30am and was out the door by 4am. It paid off for him because he got more ducks than his buddies and they were home before noon.
Cody and Brant
Cody and David

Friday night we celebrated with my family and Sunday we celebrated with his family so it was a big birthday weekend for him. Only 3 more years until he's the big 4-0!
He's such a ham!!
For the party at my parents I made a Miami Dolphins birthday cake that was orange and turquoise. He requested that I made zucchini bread for his other birthday "cake" as his moms.

There goes number 8!

Gavin has had a loose tooth for awhile and now, but this weekend it was extra wiggly and all during conference he was playing with it. He finally pulled it as the last session of conference was ending.
Goodbye number 8
This is pretty much what he did all weekend, wiggle wiggle
Fresh out
Kleenex are his "go-to" item lately

The Tooth Fairy came that night and Gavin told me "he felt the Tooth Fairy" when she came into his room so he hurried and woke up and opened his eyes, but it was too late, she was already gone.

The Tale of the Ladies Part 3

Part 3 included Chloe and I delivering these awesome ladies to my sisters house for her. We actually did it awhile ago, but I have been waiting for her to find the majority of them before I posted this so she wouldn't have clues as to where I hid/put them.
We were at her house after she had found 14 of the 28 and my sister-in-law gave me the idea to re-hide them, so I did and Karen was lucky enough to have to start all over again.

If you missed part one and two you can read about them here:

As of Friday this one was still in the deep freeze in the garage.
This one is my greatest achievement when it comes to these little ladies. Can you see her little head poking out from on top of the fan?

What about now?
I had to haul a HUGE ladder from the garage in order to be able to reach the top of the fan and even though Karen has found her she is still there because the ladder is too big for her to be able to pack in so she is waiting for Chet (her hubby) to do it.

Stay tuned for Part 4 because we already have a new destination in mind for these gals!

Life of Fry

I went in the bathroom to see what was taking Chloe so long and was overcome with gratitude for  that frilly little dress, those girly shoes and that little girl wearing them. I waited so long to have a daughter and I am so grateful for her and can't wait for all the girly things we get to do as she grows. Don't get me wrong, I love my boys too, but there is just something extra special about a mom and a daughter.
When second graders dress themselves ; )
Long sleeved red shirt under an over-sized orange jersey with navy pants
He also likes to do his own hair by himself
I've got my eye on you
He couldn't wait to try on his costume
The next morning the boys woke up early and dressed themselves
(picture from last year)
We made a special trip to Walgreen's so the kids could see the "Sugar Man", but he wasn't there this year. They were pretty bummed.

<> Mavis (our black chicken) was trying to eat a berry off of a bush and it was just out of her reach so she was jumping to try to reach it. I didn't see it, but Gavin and Cody were laughing just telling me about it

<>We were in the van the other day and Mason busted out in song. He was singing "Rollercoaster" by Luke Bryan. He is also getting lots of little freckles on his nose and they are so cute. I keep telling him they are angel kisses from Heaven.

<> "We should get daddy a princess cake for his birthday, that would be silly huh mama" -Mason

<> Everytime I read "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" to the kids Gavin does the voice of the Dr. and it's hilarious! I love it, so much that I slip it into the rotation a lot more than any of the other books.

Mason's Preschool Pictures

Mason is a month into preschool and his is absolutely loving it. He thinks his is so cool and big because he has his very own backpack and he gets to go to school just like big brother.

3rd Annual IHOP day!!

We celebrated our 3rd annual IHOP day!
In some ways I can't believe it's only been 3 years and in other ways I can't believe that it's already been 3 years, sometimes I even forget that they are adopted and I haven't had them their entire lives. I am one lucky mommy to have such a beautiful little family!
I love how Chloe is loving on her big brother here. He absolutely adores her!

Gavin was super excited they had hot cocoa. It's his drink of choice
Smiley Face Pancake...every year
 Gorilla (Grilled) Cheese Sandwich
She pretty much just ate the chocolate chips and whip cream off the top and left the rest because that's just how she rolls.

On our way home there was a HUGE lightening storm so we drove up to Lincoln hill with all the other crazy people so we could overlook the entire city and watch the lightening storm from up there.

Fall(ing Leaves)

"Let me rake mom so you don't have to do all the work"
-Gavin
(insert melting heart and happy tears, I have the coolest 7 1/2 year old ever)
Chloe striking a pose while Gavin rakes and Madisen shows Gavin a bouquet of leaves she made

Gavin lined the kids up and then counted to three so they could all jump in the leaves together

Mason got out the snow shovel so he could help

Mason really struggles getting his pants and underwear up so they almost always look like this, the waistband of his pants rolled under and his undies bunched up and sticking out the top. I have showed him over and over again, but he just doesn't care. What's a mom to do?
Gavin would have the kids bury him and then he would come out "from his grave" as a "zombie" and chase them all over

This picture cracks me up! The kids were running and jumping into the leaves and somehow Chloe tripped (she is my super clumsy one) and ended up going down backwards and then laid there and laughed and laughed.
Have I mentioned this kid LOVES to read?
