Idaho Falls Temple Open House

The Idaho Falls open house opened to the public on Saturday, April 22 and we had tickets for our family to go, but we ended up getting a special invitation to to the Saturday before because Cody helped with the renovation. At first we thought it was a wedding invitation because it was a really thick fancy envelope. We were so excited when we realized what it really was.

I was up at 6am on a Saturday morning and I did even mind because I knew where we were headed.
The entire family was all up, dressed, fed and to the stake house next to the temple before 8am for the open house and everything went smoothly :)
Our tour guides name was Manny and he was so cute with our kids. We were right up front and it was so amazing. I was surprised to see so much dark wood when we first got past the recommend desk and that you could see all they way through the chapel to the large mural of Christ. It was the same, but yet it wasn't.
The brides room was so beautiful and I'm so excited for Chloe to get ready there when she gets married. In the garden room the kids were pointing out all the animals. I never realized there were so many. Mason really loved the "cowboy room" that had the cowboy murals on the wall.
We were able to show the kids the sealing rooms were Cody and I were sealed as well as Gavin sealed to us, then we showed them the room that Mason and Chloe were sealed to us. It was so neat to be able to share that with them and let them see it now that they are old enough to remember.
At the end of the temple tour with Manny, Cody was able to take us anywhere else in the temple to show us what he had done. It was my favorite part of the entire tour.

We went to the sub basement and got to see all the mechanical rooms and all the crazy stuff he worked on down there. It was so amazing. I've never really seen his work in that magnitude and the look on his face as he was showing us and telling us was so awesome. The kids were so amazed too. It was an amazing morning :)
Afterwards they had food for us back at the church. There were cute mini bagels with fruit and cream cheese, muffins, meat and cheese, fruit kabobs and lemon water. All of it was so delicious and a fun little unexpected treat to our amazing morning.
