Forget-Me-Nots

I'm way overdue for an update on the kids and since ALL THREE of them have recently gone through a major growth spurt and are all up a size in clothes here it goes!

GAVIN
 Size 6 clothes, 11 1/2 shoes
-He has once again changed his favorite colors, but for the first time in years BLACK is not on the list. It's now GREEN and BLUE.
-He is such a good big brother and a SUPER HELPER for mom!!
-He has a serious toothbrush obsession. He always wants to brush his teeth, he has 3 toothbrushes right now and when I tell him I have a surprise for him he asks if it's a toothbrush. He was upset when I told him I threw away his yellow fish toothbrush because it was worn out. When we went camping he wanted to take two of his toothbrushes with him in case one of them got lost. I think I have rubbed off on him a bit too much!
-He always wants to carry my cellphone in his pocket so he can call and text his daddy (yes, he knows how to text. I don't know if that's cute or disturbing, the jury is still out).
-He LOVES music and loves to dance. Right now his favorite songs are REO Speedwagon "I can't fight this feeling anymore" (from Chipmunks movie), Journey "Don't stop believin" and Lionel Ritchie "Hello"
-He is super easy to please too. (examples)
Cody: What do you want me to bring you back?
Gavin: How about a rock?
----------------------
Cody: Gavin what should we have for dinner:
(we were out running errands and trying to decide where to eat out)
Gavin: How about some applesauce
----------------------
Teri: Gavin, what do you want to do with daddy today?
(we were thinking swimming, the zoo, a movie)
Gavin: Let's do a puzzle

Nothing like a 5 year old to remind you TO KEEP LIFE SIMPLE!!

MASON
Finally in a size 2T and size 4 shoes
-Mason LOVES to be outside, rides on the 4 wheeler and sleeping!! He is the first one to bed, the last one up and takes the longest naps. The only time he sucks his thumb now is when he is really tired or sleeping so it's finally starting to look better and the callus is almost gone.
-His favorite toys right now are airplanes, dinosaurs and cars. He always has one of them in his hand when he is home.
-He copies almost everything so I have to be extra careful what I say and do around him.
-He also starts dancing whenever we have music on.
-Whenever I do Chloe's hair (so she can pull it right back out) he wants to have his hair done too.
-He loves to give hugs and kisses all.the.time. now and he loves to take a bath, but hates getting out!!

 CHLOE
Nothing says future Princess like a pulled out pigtail and a finger up your nose!!!
Size 18 month clothes and size 3 shoes
-She will NOT keep her hair in anything (no bows, headbands, pigtails, etc) and she refuses to keep her shoes and socks on. If we are going somewhere I don't even bother to put her shoes on half the time until we are there because she just takes them off and if we are in a store I have to watch her otherwise I am back tracking in the aisles looking for shoes and socks she has taken off and thrown on the floor.
-EVERY animal is a "doggy"
-She empties everything she can get her hands on out: purses, diaper bags, toys bins, drawers, etc.
-If you ask her where her belly is she will pull her shirt up with one hand and smack her belly with the other one.
-Her feet are ALWAYS moving (can babies have restless leg syndrome?)
-When she puckers up to give you a kiss she sticks her bottom lip out
-She says "Hi, hello, mommy, daddy, doggy, eat, juice, cackers (crackers)", and now also says "cheese" when she sees the camera.

This Week

Monday was my brother Paul's birthday and we had a birthday lunch at Red Robin. I secretly wrote "It's his birthday today" with an arrow pointing to Paul and showed it to the waitress on the sly. He had no idea until the waitress and other co-workers showed up with balloons and sang to him. Erin (his wife) and I were in trouble until he realized that he at least got FREE dessert for his embarrassment!
My kiddos love being "baby burrito's"
Luke and Gavin think it's hilarious to stand behind Bud when he wags his tail because then Bud's tail hits their butts. They were giggling so hard and saying "Buds spanking me"
I'm not sure which got more Popsicle; his mouth or his belly!
Bud is also the honorary towel rack
 Chloe!!
 My super duper helper
 He's taking it soooo serious!! ; )
He thought he was all grown up because he figured out how I make the water fan out by putting his thumb over it
It was one of those days when I totally felt like a mean, inadequate mom and then I found Batman reading.
I must be doing something right!!
After I went to some yard sales with my dad (and scored a new computer desk and a go kart for Gavin super cheap) we went to an airplane show at Aeromark.
I had a baby shower and my Uncle Keith's wedding to go to so the kids got to play with Aunt Sadie and all the cousins. I came back to get them for the reception and Gavin wanted to stay and play, do you blame him?

Annual Mother's Day Photo!

First of all if anyone would have told me last year that this years picture was going to have 3 kids instead of just 1 I would have thought they were crazy, but here I am a super happy (but sometimes borderline insane) mommy of 3!!!

As usual, it's VERY DIFFICULT to get 3 kids to look at the camera at the same time especially using the self timer since daddy wasn't here to take the picture. Here's the results:
 Mason not looking
Mason looking, but Chloe not looking
Mason AND Chloe not looking, me talking
Chloe's not smiling, but at least everyone's head is facing the camera. It's going to have to do because running back and forth from the camera to the couch was wearing me out!!
 Me and my mommy!!
~Happy Mother's Day Mom~
We had a BBQ at my parents in the afternoon and then Uncle Kenny took Gavin, Taylor, Madisen and Faith for a ride on grandpa's "vroom vroom"

Afterwards we met up with the Fry's at Kate Curley Park for a Mother's Day picnic. Gavin refers to it as the "brown park" because the slides our brown and the park by our house with the yellow slides is called...you guessed it, the "yellow park".
Head first and upside down is the cool way to go down the slide now
Going down the slide "doggie-pile style"
Aidyn, Kessler, Treysen, Gavin, Taiya, Drake and Maycee
Kessler couldn't be anymore happy!!

Happy Mother's Day!

My sister helped my kids make this while I was sleeping, it's adorable!!
Gavin 5, Mason 2 and Chloe 1

I printed this out and asked Gavin the questions and was really surprised by some of his answers.  First of all I had no idea that I knew how to Ninja Fight!! That's awesome! I am a little scared about getting a spider web full of REAL spiders, but he did tell me that it was for Halloween so I have a few months to get use to the idea. I'm really not sure what to say about the pajamas thing, I guess he likes my stretch pants and baggy t-shirts! In any case I plan on having the kids fill these out every year and it will be fun to see how the answers change from year to year.

When the Cats Away...

...the children will play.

I put Gavin to bed after giving him children's Motrin for his fever and then I woke up Thursday morning at 2 am with a terrible sore throat, body aches and was freezing!! Gavin and I both went to the Dr. that day and we both had strep throat, lucky us!! He was feeling better by  Thursday night, I on the other hand wasn't. It's now Saturday night and I only felt "normal" a few hours ago.

My poor kids didn't get their daily baths, bedtime stories and were stuck eating ravioli, yogurt, cheese and crackers and every other simple thing I could think of. Yesterday my sister had us come over and she watched my kids while I slept on her bed for hours, it was amazing and I would probably still be a half dead zombie if it wasn't for her. She even made us dinner which was the first thing besides Gatorade that I even felt like eating in days.

I swear my brain is the first thing to go when I'm sick. Wednesday night we got home and a few minutes later I found Mason with my wallet and Chloe in my purse. I spent the next 2 1/2 days looking for my keys everywhere! I even went so far as to dig through a bag of garbage that I had thrown out, but it actually felt good because I was running a fever again and it was breezy outside.  Friday night I went into my room for something and there they were in plain site on top of my dresser. I NEVER put my keys on my dresser and I don't even remember doing it and it's too tall for the kids to reach so it had to have been me.

Brain Malfunction #2 - I had to work Friday morning for a few hours (and no I can't really call in sick because I am Dr. Q's R.N. , his only R.N. and if I don't show up, then surgeries get cancelled, etc.). I had been on my meds for 24 hours and I wore a mask the entire time I was there to be on the safe side. Back to my point. I went to get the keys for the narcotic box and the crash cart out of Dr. Q's office and couldn't find them, they were gone. I went back to the O.R. and there they were, I had already got them. Then I went to start the first patients I.V. and didn't even have my I.V. tray. I felt like a complete scatter brain! Luckily those were the only two incidents and the patients all lived!!

Back at home my kids were free to do pretty much whatever they wanted while I laid in the recliner in the living room and they didn't cause as much trouble as I thought they might.
Mason cruising around in my hat, that was in my bedroom
Chloe fell asleep in the middle of the floor
I woke up and found the kids playing in the toy room AND getting along!!
I have no idea why Gavin was wearing his jacket
Gavin turning himself blue was the worst thing that happened in their 3 days of no supervision and surprisingly it all washed off after some soaking and scrubbing. He made himself some toast and wanted it to have blue jam so he put blue food coloring all over his toast and I'm really not sure how it ended up all over his hands and face, but here is my Smurfy son!

Don't mind my voice, remember I had strep!

Pool Time!

Gavin wanted his pool out and I thought it was way too cold, but he has been asking for weeks so I set it up. The neighbor kids saw me blowing it up and they had their suits on and were in my backyard before I even had water in it.
The first jump into the pool of the summer
I was cold just watching them
 Kaylene, Gavin and Aaron

They got into a water fight and it made me smile just watching them run and squeal and have a great time. They had Melvin pinned up in the tree and were throwing buckets of water at him.

Melvin got the buckets and got them back! That's his sister that
he's throwing the water on, reminds me of my childhood.
It was a fun and happy afternoon

Forget-Me-Nots

My bouquet of "flowers" Gavin picked me
The boys think their new "game" is hilarious!!
 Somebody's got the munchies!!!
In her new sweater that daddy bought her
 PIZZA!!
I LOVE PIZZA!!

GAVIN -  Can count to 100 all by himself. I also let him ride his bike around the block by himself and he thinks he is so cool now, but also thinks he is to cool and old for a bike helmet and a car seat. (Luckily when I got pulled over for speeding I had the officer explain to him that he needs to be in a car seat until he is 7 and he hasn't argued with me since AND I didn't get a ticket, winner winner chicken dinner!) He loves the tank game on the Wii and will play it as much as I let him. His favorite colors are now black, white and blue. He loves to have his hair in a Mohawk or spiky with gel.

MASON - Loves airplanes and cars and is almost always playing with one of them. He gets excited every time the bus stops in front of our house to get the neighbor kid. He runs to the window and says "bus, bus!" He is into giving hugs and kisses now and will freely give them if you ask (most of the time). He wants to brush his teeth every time he is in the bathroom but won't let anyone help him so it's kind of a wrestling match when I brush them just to make sure we are getting everywhere. He has started taking his shoes off too so anytime we go anywhere I just plan on having to put Mason and Chloe's shoes back on them before we get out.

CHLOE-  Will not leave her shoes on to save her life and she has figured out that she can take her pigtails out by herself and does on a regular basis now. She won't wear bows, headbands, berets, and now no pigtails!! I guess here hair is destined to always be in her eyes. She say's Uh-oh now and it's HILARIOUS!! She's starting to pick up a lot of new words like: eat, juice, etc. She is always carrying something around, clothes, toys, garbage she finds at the park, she always has something in her hands. She's pretty stinking cute if you ask me!
