Idaho Falls Temple Open House - Take Two and Three

We were able to get extra tickets for my sister and her family as well as the Beck family so that we could go to the Idaho Falls Temple open house with them. None of them had ever been in the temple before so it was all new to them.
After we went through with my sister and her family the kids loved the Christus statue. They were inspecting every part of him. They found all the nail holes and were touching them. It was fun to watch them.

Easter 2017

The Easter Bunny came! He brought Chloe a new dress, the boys new shirts and shorts and of course goodies. The kids were extra excited because they also got their own mini bag of chips, their own jerky and pop rocks. They also got little Flipazoo animals.
Chloe discovered that if you hurry and swallow them then your belly pops!! It was HILARIOUS! She kept swallowing them and then we would listen to her belly over and over again.

Boys are weird and sometimes gross creatures
We all met at my parents today for the Blakely Annual Easter Egg hunt. Karen, mom and I stuffed the eggs the night before and it took us well over an hour because we had to find all the matches for the eggs from last year.
We also had Easter Dinner together, but then had to rush home to get ready for church.

This was us after church! The boys are both missing their ties, Mason pants are bunched up, his shirt is untucked, Chloe's hair was all undone, she's missing her sweater for her dress and "fluffy" (her pink jacket) was photo bombing our photo. Having church from 2-5 pm is so hard!
Gavin and Mason bore their testimonies today. Gavin does pretty much every fast Sunday. He also helped Mason because he wanted to so bad but didn't quite know what to say/how to do it.
Mason picked me my first dandelion of the season and we put it in a vase on the counter. After church we quickly ran home, changed back into our regular clothes and headed to G&G Fry's for another Easter egg hunt and a second dinner. It was such a nice and beautiful day today that we were able to eat outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Idaho Falls Temple Open House

The Idaho Falls open house opened to the public on Saturday, April 22 and we had tickets for our family to go, but we ended up getting a special invitation to to the Saturday before because Cody helped with the renovation. At first we thought it was a wedding invitation because it was a really thick fancy envelope. We were so excited when we realized what it really was.

I was up at 6am on a Saturday morning and I did even mind because I knew where we were headed.
The entire family was all up, dressed, fed and to the stake house next to the temple before 8am for the open house and everything went smoothly :)
Our tour guides name was Manny and he was so cute with our kids. We were right up front and it was so amazing. I was surprised to see so much dark wood when we first got past the recommend desk and that you could see all they way through the chapel to the large mural of Christ. It was the same, but yet it wasn't.
The brides room was so beautiful and I'm so excited for Chloe to get ready there when she gets married. In the garden room the kids were pointing out all the animals. I never realized there were so many. Mason really loved the "cowboy room" that had the cowboy murals on the wall.
We were able to show the kids the sealing rooms were Cody and I were sealed as well as Gavin sealed to us, then we showed them the room that Mason and Chloe were sealed to us. It was so neat to be able to share that with them and let them see it now that they are old enough to remember.
At the end of the temple tour with Manny, Cody was able to take us anywhere else in the temple to show us what he had done. It was my favorite part of the entire tour.

We went to the sub basement and got to see all the mechanical rooms and all the crazy stuff he worked on down there. It was so amazing. I've never really seen his work in that magnitude and the look on his face as he was showing us and telling us was so awesome. The kids were so amazed too. It was an amazing morning :)
Afterwards they had food for us back at the church. There were cute mini bagels with fruit and cream cheese, muffins, meat and cheese, fruit kabobs and lemon water. All of it was so delicious and a fun little unexpected treat to our amazing morning.

Look at that hail coming down!
Gavin's jacket didn't have a hood so I gave him mine to protect his head from getting pelted
As soon as the Easter Egg Hunt was over, so was the hail storm.
The Easter Bunny also stopped by for a visit.

Re-creation year one

We took this same picture a year ago after we signed on the house and it was officially ours. I want to re create it every year. It was so hard to get this one. I worked that day, got off light and we were running out of daylight. I called Cody and asked him to get the kids shoes and coats on and to be waiting for me.
I got home, the kids came out and I tried to put them how we were last year. I got my phone on my selfie stick, but by then the kids were getting cold, the wind kept blowing my phone so I would have to readjust it so you could even see us and somewhere in the middle the kids realized we weren't going anywhere, they just got ready so they could come outside for a picture. That's when it all went bad. There was crying, some yelling and may have even been a little bribing and swearing involved so we could take this. Nothing like a glimpse into real life right?

The top is last year and the bottom is our recreation.
One of the failed photos. Gavin was so upset because he thought we were going somewhere. Hopefully next year, it's a better and happier situation.

We also recreated when Cody carried me over the threshold. He thinks I'm a dork for doing this, but one day we will look back through all of these and it's going to be so much fun.

Hardwork Saturday

My dad is having a new shop built, but he had an old shed that was in the way and needed torn down. We all met out there on Saturday and got rid of it for him.
Gavin was up on the roof for a long time pulling the nails out of the tin. Mason was pretty much just supervising and having a good time hanging out on the roof with the big boys.

Chloe had on her "work gloves" so she helped bring the tin over and stack it in a pile for us.
As the pieces came down Paul and I would haul them over to the fire to burn it.
Who said we can't have fun while doing it?
The kids would help load this with wood and garbage and we would take it to where it needed to be and then I would give them a ride back in the wagon.
Almost gone! The last little bit we hooked it up to the truck and went for it. It was fun watching it come down and it felt so good to be outside with my family doing hard work. : )
