Life of Fry...

Chloe after she got back from a date with daddy. She wanted "pink ice cream" so daddy got her a strawberry milkshake
Gavin's facial expressions during his homework. It's easier to concentrate when your tongue is sticking out : )
We kidnapped my one of our friends Amanda and took her on a girls night out to the EISF for her birthday. We explored the fair, ate yummy food and then went to the hypnotist Richard Barker and I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I can't wait to go again next year.

Melanie, Jessica, Demarie, Amanda, Stevie, Rhonda, Chelsea, Shannon, Ashely and Teri

I came home late from the fair and found Mason here. I thought he had just gotten out of bed and fell asleep here until I went to put him back to bed.  He had puked in his bed and on his clothes so I changed him into clean pajamas and then he puked again. I ended up putting him in the bathtub  this time because it ended up on him and not just his clothes. After I got him all cleaned up and his bed pulled apart I made a spot for us on the couch and we slept there with the puke bucket next to us.
He went to Gma Fry's with daddy for Uncle Connnelly's birthday and had way to many sweets. He was puking up mostly purple frosting (gag!) and after that was out of his system he slept great for the rest of the night.
My first crepe ever! It's pretty round for a rookie.
(Cody is the chef here and usually cooks the "hard " stuff)
We were at the park with Paul, Erin and the kids and Gavin came and got me because he wanted to show me what he had written in the bark. Yep, that says "pot". I couldn't believe it and at the same time wondering what type of "pot" he was spelling. I asked him where he learned that word (hoping they were learning about pots and pans or something like that at school) and he took me to the picnic table and showed me this:
Yep, that's what I thought, it WAS that kind of pot. Nothing an "s" on either end of the word wouldn't fix.

We were at my parent's on Sunday night for the Butikofer Birthday Bash and found this beauty on the way home. The Arachnophobia Monster Truck.

The kids kept wanting us to start it so they could go for a ride.

And last but surely not least: I told Cody he needed to grow some serious chest hair because I really want to do this to him. I think it's hilarious!! Unfortunately he's not going for it. : (
The End

Backyard Happenings

We made homemade hand-turned ice cream the other night. It was delicious! It's a good thing it's not super easy or we would be having it every night after dinner or maybe even for dinner!

We caught Chloe and Mason eating it off the beater

We all devoured it and ended up making a second batch to save for later. The ice was ready so why not make the most of it?
We found this baby in the crawl space of our first home. It's a bit rusty on the outside, but the inside is in great condition. I'm not really sure how old it is, but I do know it makes some yummy ice cream!
I found this little guy while I was weeding the pumpkins, hence the dirt on my hands. I wasn't planning on weeding when I went out to the garden so I didn't grab my gloves, but a little dirt never hurt anyone right?
He hung out with me and we chatted about what I had unintentionally done to our poor pumpkins before he hopped away
They look terrible I know and I'm to blame. I went out and pulled a bunch of the extra blossoms off so that the plant would just focus on growing the 7 pumpkins that we already had growing. The plant was overtaking the garden and there were vines that didn't have any pumpkins on them. My thinking was if I cut those extra vines off then the pumpkins would grow even bigger since there would be less plant to grow.....
Well, I was wrong. The plant is slowly dying. The leaves are pretty much gone, but luckily the vines are still hanging on and the pumpkins are still growing, but not as rapidly as they were before. The kids were so excited that they were getting so big, I'm so mad at myself. Now I know what NOT to do.

These aren't from my backyard though I wish they were. They are from my grandma's raspberry patch. My grandpa can't get out there and pick them on his own so I have been picking them, freezing them and when they are done producing I will bottle them for him like my grandma use to do. Aren't they gorgeous? This is one of my favorite parts of fall, getting to eat all the yummy stuff that you grew all summer long.

EISF

We were planning on going to the fair Tuesday night but it rained and rained and rained some more followed by lots of thunder and lightening so we came home from camping a little early so that we had time to go to the fair. It was a long fun filled day.
 My two sheep and pig
Off course we had to go to the petting zoo and then Gavin wanted to go to the McKee's booth because he wanted to see the tarantulas. (This is the booth where he decided he wanted a tarantula last year, you can read about it here. )

We also got to watch all the cars and trucks come in for the Demolition Derby. The kids had fun seeing all the different ones and listening to them rev their engines.

Milking the cow. Chloe was all up in there and Mason followed because he copies everyone now and it took a minute for Gavin to be convinced to try it again.
They were even more excited that they got stickers and a chocolate milk.
We spent a lot of time at the tractors too

I'm so glad that Cody likes rides so the kids have someone to go with. I use to love them, but anymore even just the thought of going on one makes me nauseous.
Gavin was too short to go on a lot of the rides he picked out, but luckily he was barely tall enough to go on the music express.
This one is blurry but Gavin is hanging on for dear life! His arm muscles are so tight and the look on his face! I wanted to cry for him. He looked scared and I thought for sure he was going to hate it, but when he got off he told me that he had fun.

Mason picked out the "Mader wide (Mater Ride)" after he was too short to go on the helicopter ride
Chloe of course picked the Merry Go Round and we had enough tickets from the value pack for all of them (except me thank goodness) to go
 I just LOVE these guys!!
The floor spins around like a dryer and Gavin wasn't sure about it. He stood there for a long time. The little girl next to him finally went through so he decided he would be ok
 Here he comes!
He said this was his favorite part of the fair, the Fun House. Maybe next year I'll go with him.
 Daddy and the Masonator

We got the kids their Culligan feather hats, looked at some booths and what was left of the animals. Gavin loved this little miniature horse named Nova. He was gray and white and so pretty. The owner was getting ready to take him home. He let the kids pet him and then we walked with him to his trailer for the ride home. By that time the kids were done and ready to go home. We went back to the food court to get some fair food to go (Tiger Ears, Funnel Cakes, etc) but the lines were a lot longer than what was left of the kids patience so we opted to just leave (after a quick stop for some cotton candy) and hope we didn't go through Fair Food withdrawals in the next year.

We decided to head over to Rupe's which is the next best thing. We all shared a sampler basket of fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and jalapeno poppers and topped it off with ice cream. It pretty much did the trick

All three of them were sound asleep before we even left Blackfoot City limits.

Our last Hoorah!

We went camping with friends last weekend up past Kelly Canyon. The weather was pretty good except for a little rain around 10pm, but good times were had by all.
