Life of Fry...

For Gavin's date night I took him a lone to get his school shoes and then to Target to pick out a back pack. This is where we ended up FOREVER, but it was his night and he got to pick so I (im)patiently waited for him to put every.single.figure on the pad so he could see what each one did.
Then he wanted to go get ice cream at Chick-fil-A which was weird because we rarely go there and have never been there for ice cream before but they do have yummy vanilla.
Pretty ironic, don't you think?
They were actually selling real corn at the gas station but I had to take a picture to send Cody
It rained a lot last weekend and Gavin was fascinated with the bubbles the rain was making. We both got pretty wet watching them
 My super heros
Bumblebee, Spriderman and Batman
 A glimpse of potty training
Gavin put the kids in the cage by himself to keep the dog away
Chloe trying to get Coco to come to them with a bone.
I know, I know, super gross my kid is holding a bone
 Gavin and Mason
 Mason and Chloe
My kids have a sudden zucchini fetish, so bad that I had to beg for more on Facebook. Gavin has been helping me get it all ready to make more zucchini bread with. I made zucchini brownies too but accidentally put in baking SODA instead of baking POWDER. They were disgusting!!!
First time using a peeler, not to shabby!
 Nutella smile
 Beware of Ninjas
I made him a mask for his ninja costume and he thought I was the coolest person ever for almost 5 minutes
Chloe wasn't in her bed one morning and I found her in Gavin's bed...on the top bunk!
After we got back from Grandpa B's the other day Chloe disappeared and this is where I found her, asleep in her room on the floor just feet away from her bed. This kid sleeps everywhere!
Reading bedtime stories

Soaking up the last days of summer! (and our mermaid siting)

We made a moat and then banished our kids to the island!
Starting the moat
Dipping her head in the water
Her swim bottoms will not stay on, her butt is just too little
Chloe dumping water on her head
I'm so glad that she is not afraid to be in the water anymore!
Building up the dam on the moat
Mason loading up dirt to help with the dam
Cody and Gavin swam over to the slide and Gavin went down the slide over and over and over and over again. He loves it.

And now for the mermaid siting!!!
See her? Right in front of Gavin and Cody
There she goes into the water
 A close up
She even went down the slide

This is what happens when naps get skipped
We let the boys play on the playground before we left
 Watch out, crazy driver!

We decided at the last minute to go to the Drive In so it was a mad dash to get the van "drive in ready", grab some snacks and drinks and then get there. Luckily it wasn't very busy so we still ended up with a pretty good spot and the Chase's were there and we were able to park by them.
This sums it up - My kind of Perfect.

Mason playing with the seatbelt
Chloe cheesing it but not looking at the camera
Gavin smiling with his toothless smile
and an extra kid, Thatcher.
He jumped in our van to play with Gavin while we waited for the movies to start.

We watched Planes and Grown Ups 2

Back to School Night

Gavin and his First Grade teacher Mrs. Courville
Gavin at his new desk.
(He wanted his back pack and school supplies in the picture)

He starts on Tuesday, Sept. 3rd and is so excited he gets to stay there all day and eat lunch there. Hopefully he stays that excited!

Ammon Pool

After the hair incident Liz invited us to go swimming with her and her boys to cool off (in more ways than one!) We haven't been to Ammon Pool all summer and we practically lived there last year
 Liz and Talmage
Gavin yelled "Geronimo" every time he would jump in
Look at the happiness on that kids face! I love it!
Teagan doing a cannonball off the diving board
 Masonater
Gavin spent almost the entire time jumping off the side of the pool
and the other half playing dead in the water.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Yes, this happened and it wasn't even my 2 or 3 year old that did it, it was my 6 year old.
He picked up all the hair and put it in a box and put the scissors away.

Here's the conversation (after I semi-calmed down, MY BABY GIRLS LONG HAIR WAS JUST HACKED!!)
Me: Gavin why did you cut Chloe's hair?
Gavin: It was looking to long
Me: What do you think your punishment should be?
Gavin: That wasn't anything bad was it?
Me: Yes it was
Gavin: How is it a bad thing? Her hair was just getting so long so I cut it for you.
Me: You are not allowed to cut anyone's hair
Gavin: You never told me I couldn't

Was he legitimately trying to help or is he just so smart that he knows how to not get into trouble?  I don't know. I didn't end up punishing him, but we did have a talk about no scissors without adults and then I continued with a long list of other things that I should probably tell him so he can't said I never told him it was wrong. I hope I did the right thing or maybe I'm just a sucker. He really does try to do extra things all the time to be nice. Being a parent stinks sometimes!

I sent my awesome friend Liz a picture of Chloe's new haircut by Gavin with the caption, "HELP!!!" She came to the rescue and fixed Chloe's hair. It was was to short to do an A-Line like we wanted, but it still turned out pretty cute, just short : (
 Distracting her with a duck
The cape didn't last long and neither did the duck.
She ended up playing games on my phone
Checking out her hair in the mirrow
 All Done

Thank you Liz for saving the day!!!
