Five Fry's: September 2016

Somewhere in Kilgore

Our neighbors, the Thurgoods, invited us to go camping with them somewhere in Kilgore near their family cabin. It was they first time the kids and I had camped there. The night sky was amazing!! So many stars.

Mason was king of the hill

Their oldest daughter Jaycee had the trailer gate fall and split her head open. We watched the other two while they took her back down into the valley for stitches. I told them from now on when they invite us anywhere they all have to wear helmets because last time they invited us Landon (the dad) fell and split his head open.

We went on a hike up the hill. Gavin was being such a poser!

The rest of the kids wanted to be like Gavin so they all (except Mason of course) climbed up on the rocks and wanted to be in a picture too

The kids loved playing in the rocks on the road. I got the toy bucket out and they built a zoo for the animals.

We went for a ride and stopped at a creek for the kids to play. They were throwing rocks in to see who could make the biggest splash. Gavin found a big rock that he could hardly carry.

It made a huge splash. He also threw another one in while I was down by the waters edge and it splashed all over me. He thought it was so funny!

Mason found a big dead bird in the water and worked and worked to get it unstuck

On the way back to the cabin Megan let Gavin drive the razor while she unlocked the gates. He was loving every minute of it!

Mason kept finding bones everywhere.

We stopped at on last pond on the way back home to see if we could find some tadpoles. There weren't any, but we did find some water skippers. We caught and released a few before heading home.

First Day of School

The kids requested pancakes for their back to school breakfast.

Chloe wants to be a rock star, a nurse, a teacher and a babysitter!!

Mason wants to be a Karate Teacher

And just like that, they are off!
This is the first time any of them have been able to ride a bus to school.

Chloe told me she had to hold her breath all day and when I asked her about it she said "Just because other people were being loud I had to hold my breath. I was being TOTAL quiet so I had to hold a bubble in my mouth". Funny girl.
The boys never have much to say about school. I did get them to say they had a good day and they both liked their teachers.

I made homemade zucchini bread for their after school snack that we ate while taking about their first day of school.

Back to School Night

Chloe is in the Spanish Immersion program so it puts here in a different elementary school than her brother's, but she doesn't seem to mind.

My boys just happen to have my old softball coach as their principal. They better be good for him ; )

The kids were able to meet their teachers (Cody was Gavin's teachers boss way back when he was the store manager for United Furniture Warehouse), put their things in their desks, have a tour of the school and meet their bus drivers.

When we got home we packed lunches, picked out clothes, Cody gave them all Father's Blessings and we tucked them into bed.

Conversation between Chloe and Cody:
Chloe- Is mom going to be all alone tomorrow?
Dad- Yes she is.
Chloe- Oh. She is going to have a quiet day because when I am home all I do it talk, talk, talk.

Swim Party at G&G's

My parents blew up their inflatable water slide and jump house today and had us all over to play and have a BBQ. It was a fun get together and the kids all had a blast even my pouty Mason who refused to get in the pool for the picture.

Redneck Yard Work

Cody pulled a pallet behind the 4 wheeler with the boys on it to finish leveling out the southeast corner of the property by the well. They were so dirty, but look at the smiles on their faces! They were loving every dirty, dusty minute of it.
I caught Cody blowing the boys off with the reverse setting on the shop vac before sending them in the house for a much needed bath.

First Annual Princess Tea Party

My sister hosted the First Annual Princess Tea Party for all the girl cousins.

It's hard to convince this girl to wear anything but this and even harder to convince her that it's not a Princess dress, so we just put on her "Cinderella shoes" and her crown and called it good.

Karen initially just invited the younger girls, but the older girls asked if they could come as well. I thought it was so adorable that they wanted to be a part of it and I think it made the little girls feel even cooler because they were able to hang out with the older cousins.

They had pink (strawberry) milk, chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows as well as adorable cupcakes.

It was suppose be be outside, but of course the wind picked up (gotta love Idaho) so at the last minute it was moved inside so the canopy and everything else didn't blow away.
