Chloe's First Performance

Chloe was so excited about being able to dance in front of an audience. She was telling anyone and everyone who would listen that she had a performance. They performed during the half time of the Hillcrest night girls J.V. basketball game. The boys were really into the basketball game so we stayed to watch the rest of the game.
I LOVE having a daughter and being able to buy dance shoes, tutu's and all other things girlie
Her group is 4-6 year old's. It's so cute watching them dance. Chloe kept looking at us and waving during her dance along with some of the other girls.

It will be fun to see how they progress over the next couple of months.

Life of Fry

I didn't feel up to doing anything on New Year's Eve. Cody and the kids went to his sister's and were back around 9. We put the kids to bed and our plan was to stay up until midnight but we were both tired so we watch this, kissed, drank some apple cider and went to bed. Woo hoo, so exciting!!

This little dude is in senior primary now! Crazy.
We are on our own. The boys are at school, daddy is at work and it's just Chloe and I hanging out. I was going to update my blog earlier, but she crawled up on my lap and asked me to watch Little Rascals with her. How could I tell her no?
I fell asleep in the couch and she proceeded to take pictures on my phone. Mostly of me sleeping, the TV and my foot, but she also took some of the wall, my temporary table and selfies of herself.
She insists on holding my crutches for me while I go potty, brush my teeth, wash my face, anything I do that doesn't require my crutches.
After watching "My babysitter is a Vampire" and "Hocus Pocus" all day I picked the next movie which was "Home". She didn't like my choice so she took my crutches and went to her room...little stinker. I couldn't even chase after her. All I could do was sit and think how much trouble we were in if she was thinking like this and doing these things at 5.
Chloe is obsessed with this new shirt she got for her birthday. She calls it her "pizza shirt".

Chloe wanted to take donuts to preschool as her treat for her birthday party. She picked the chocolate covered ones and I'm sure her teacher was super happy about giving a room full of preschoolers chocolate covered donuts.

Chloe had a couple of cavities she had to have filled. They numbed her mouth and she wasn't too sure about it. She was fine until they brought her back out to me and then she was crying and collapsed on the floor. When Cody came to pick us up he had to come in and pick her up off of the floor because she said, "my mouth hurts to bad, I can't walk." I promised her ice cream when we got home and suddenly she was better.
I spent Thursday with my sister and Chase while the girls were at school. It was Chase's birthday and I took a picture with him. I had to take a second one because the first one didn't have his shark shirt in it." Silly kid.
Gavin got down on the floor and was playing with Laken, it was so cute.
This girl makes me giggle when she dressed up
Chloe got this bag from my sister for her birthday. She started coloring it as soon as we got home and didn't stop until it was all colored. She was so excited and couldn't believe that she was actually coloring on a purse.
Mason and Chloe were playing and pretending they were on a date. We were laughing and then Cody pointed out a few things wrong with this scenerio:
1- Neither of them are 16
2- neither of them are wearing shoes
3- Mason has a purse
4- Chloe has a BABY!
5- She's DATING HER BROTHER!!
Chloe surprised me with getting "the movie theater ready".
She had snacks, cut out and drew movie tickets, laid out a blanket and even popped popcorn which was really just goldfish she put in baggies because she doesn't know how to make popcorn. She even stole my slippers.
Watching the "movie" She picked "Daniel Tigers Neighbor hood" for about 10 min and then it was back to "My Babysitter is a Vampire"

Chloe's 5th Birthday

I cannot believe that my baby is 5 years old! Time is just flying by.
She requested a chocolate donut with sprinkles and she wanted her candles in it so her cake was like her daddy's birthday cake.
 This little girl LOVES dresses.
My Little Pony walkie talkies from her brothers
She had big brother read her card to her
We got her 2 outfits and a cash register

Her party was that night. We reserved a room at the Holiday Inn, had the party and let the kids swim. Our families are just too big to have a party in our little apartment.
Her party started out with a bubble gum party, then to Hello Kitty, to Dora the Explorer, to Unicorn and then to Strawberry Shortcake. At that point I told her there was no more changing her mind. I went to the store and found all kinds of party stuff for Hello Kitty, Dora and even Unicorn parties, but absolutely nothing for Strawberry Shortcake. After 4 different stores I just ended up buying a Strawberry Shortcake doll with her dog.
Chloe and her dad made and decorated the cake earlier in the day while I was on the couch all drugged up (I had surgery 2 days prior). She did the sprinkles all by herself, all 4 bottles of them.
Everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to her. She was so embarrassed all the attention was on her.
 Make a wish!

We had pizza, drinks, donuts and cake then all the kids went swimming. I stayed in the party room because I figured crutches and slick floors wouldn't mix to well but my sister took some pictures for me.
See what I mean? We have a HUGE family. There is no way we would've all fit.

2015 Bandwagon

I always jump on the bandwagon like everyone else and do a recap of what went on the previous year except I'm keeping it simple and skipping the pictures.

January - The Great Churro Hunt took place. All I wanted was a silly churro and it ended up being an entire nights hunt before I finally found some. It doesn't sound very exciting now, but it was super fun, exciting and borderline frustrating at the time.

February - We finally went on our much anticipated and long over due family vacation to Disneyland. We also took the kids to a few beaches where they experienced the ocean for the first time, Sea World, and San Diego Zoo. The kids are still talking about it : )

March- Gavin turned 8 and was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was so excited and couldn't wait.
My niece Laken was born and has earned herself many nicknames since; Volcano Baby, Fatty, fatso and Mavis

April - Work flew me to San Antonio for training and I was able to experience the rich history of the town as well visit with my Aunt Debbie who also lives there. It has been years since we have seen each other. I was able to go to her house and have Sunday dinner with her entire family minus my cousin who was deployed.

Harry Potter also invaded our house. Gavin and I started reading them together. He is such a fast reader that I couldn't keep up with him. He is currently on book six as of today.

May - I went to Casper with a couple of girlfriends. We had a minor car problem, but after getting a rental we made it safe and sound and then were rescued by our husbands.

Gavin had his first Pinewood Derby and got 2nd place in his Wolf den and 2nd place overall. It was a fun night.

Mason caught his first fish! It was a 16 inch whopper he caught in Palisades Reservoir. He was so excited.

June - Summer started and we celebrated by a chronic sno cone addiction

July - Our family reunion theme was a circus theme "Under the Big Top", Cody and I ventured to Portland, Oregon for his brother Connelly's wedding to Cassie,  and I introduced my kids to one of my favorite childhood books "Morris has a Cold".

August - We sent a record for our most trips ever in one month to Rigby Lake, Mason started kindergarten and Gavin started 3rd grade.

September - Mason learned how to ride a bike without training wheels on bumping, rocky mountain roads, Gavin shot his first squirrel and a sage grouse, Chloe started preschool and we sold our kids first house in 9 days!

October - We moved into an apartment for the first time in our married lives, we welcomed another great niece, Piper, and after 13 1/2 years of marriage Cody FINALLY joined me at a spook alley with a trip to Dr. Slaughters.

November- Chloe started taking dance, Gavin got glasses for the first time and Cody went pheasant hunting for the first time and got a trophy pheasant on his first hunt.

December - Mom conspired with the employees of Broulim's and reclaimed her crown at the Turkey Bowl during midnight madness, there was plenty of snow so we did lots of sledding, had a whirlwind of a holiday season and ended the year with me saying goodbye to my bunion ; )

Songs that require us cranking up the radio when they come on this year:

Shut up and Dance - Walk the Moon
Say Jeronimo - Sheppard
Sugar - Maroon 5 (and pretty much every other Maroon 5 song)
Fight Song - Rachel Platten
Hello- Adele
Photograph - Ed Sheernan

We are also big fans of Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Eric Church

What we did- Disneyland!!
Where we went-San Antonio, Portland, California, camping
What we ate- Snocones
What we got- new to us truck and camper
What we gave-adopted a family for Christmas, best feeling ever. We are totally doing it again next year.
What we don't want to forget- How thankful we are for the things we have, the things we are able to do and for our families. Family means everything!

Life of Fry

Chloe got a new to her baby doll from the thrift store. She named it "Piper" after my new niece. She is so cute with it. She hugs it, kisses it and even breast feeds it by lifting her shirt up and putting the baby's mouth to her nipple. It's so funny the things kids pick up on when you don't even think they are paying attention.
Gavin is almost done with the Harry Potter series. He finished this book and it already on the next. He started reading them in April and had been reading all his required books for school in between. This kid is a reading machine!
Busted!
I was getting ready for church one Sunday and found her dress hanging in my closet. I pulled it out and hung it on the door knob so I could remember to wrap it later. Chloe walked in and saw it and was so excited. "Is this for me?!?! It's so beautiful, I love it!!" After that how could I make her wait until Christmas?!?! I let her put in on and wear it to church.
We went with the Fry's to see this house. It's fun to see how they change it every year. It's one of the fun ones that has the lights set up to music and you tune into the radio station when you get there.

I love that he still snuggles with his bear sometimes when he goes to sleep
We sent our letters that we wrote to Santa off, but we never did get a response from this address. We will try a different one next year.
Crazy Chloe sleeping crazy again!
We woke up to our tree all over the living room. I picked it up and there were broken bulbs all over the floor that we had to clean up and then vacuum up the little pieces.
The lights were all messed up on the tree after we stood it back up so that night I took all of the ornaments off and put them in a big bowl while I restrung the lights. In the process I accidentally bumped over the entire bowl and broke even more ornaments. When I packed the tree up this year I had 2 less boxes of ornaments to put away because so many of them were broken. : (
P.S. Have I mentioned that I'm super sick of living in this apartment with its old nappy carpet?
Chloe and Megan being "rockstars"
Chloe being Chloe
All jacked up on blue candy of some sort
Butikofer Clan at our annual Christmas party.
This year it was at Uncle Keith's house. I was there, but I was the one sky high in the air facing my fear of heights to so I could fit us all in the picture
Cody went goose hunting for the first time and shot 2 geese. He was super excited. He has been working 6 days a week and at least 10 hour days. It was Sunday when he went leaving me with all the kids, in a tiny apartment, leaving me to get them ready for church. To say the least it was a rough morning and I was so glad when sacrament meeting was over and I could let their teachers deal with them. Cody got home while we were still at church and I got this text message:

Dear love of my life, I can clearly see by the gifts that are not under the tree and the bit of things scattered about the house that you had a very rough morning without me here. Please accept my apology for being gone and not helping you out. To thank you for your sacrifice so I could go enjoy hunting I would like to give you a full body massage no strings attached. It won't buy you time and sacrifice , I know, so here's another body rub as well! Please come home in a good mood. That's all I want please please please is for you to be happy! Like two body rubs happy😘thank you and I love you

I couldn't help but laugh when I read this and I tried my best to be happy when we got home.
Mason being goofy in daddy's hat
My kids LOVE doing dishes, the real kind where you hand wash them. I had no idea, but I am taking full advantage of it! My dishwasher in the apartment isn't the greatest so I have been hand washing all of them and just using the dishwasher as a drying rack. Gavin came in while I was doing them and started playing in the bubbly water and then next thing I know he is washing them and continues to want to wash them. The other kids like to do it too. I'm loving it right now!!
Cody took Gavin to see the new Star Wars movie for his date night, he is officially on his way to manhood!
