Life of Fry

I left Cody in charge of the kids for a little over an hour so I could take Gavin to his basketball game and this is what I came home too. Kids covered in black permanent marker. Mason was the one that did all the drawing and Chloe let him. These two cause so much mischief when they are together.

We had to put chicken wire over the top of the box because Goldilocks kept jumping up on the water dish and then out of the box. We didn't want the dog to eat her. (They are out of my dining room and in the garage now, thank goodness).
Gavin brought me my first "flowers" of the season
Gavin put a fly tattoo on Chloe's belly button
She was so excited
Gavin wanted to take "funny face" pictures with me
Mason loves riding these so for his date night I gave him $3 in quarters and he rode these until he ran out of money and then he wanted to go to Target for popcorn and and Icee.
I found Chloe sleeping with her glowing princess wand in her hand and  snuggled under the blanket that my grandma made.  I love having a little girl!
I had to clean out my dad's trailer so I could borrow it and I found Santa's head. I sent it to my brother Paul and he wrote back, "You decapitated Santa? You just killed the dreams of every child in north America!"
My only question is, "What about the rest of the world Paul?" I love my siblings.
Chloe had a bench fall on her foot while I was helping in Gavin's class. (Don't feel to bad, she was told by the sitter multiple times to stay off the bench). That was in the morning and all day long she wouldn't walk on it at all and would scream bloody murder every time I would even try to touch it. Finally later that afternoon I decided to have it checked out, but really only because we were leaving town this weekend. It reminded me of this:
 Bahahaha SO TRUE!!!!
We saw the Dr. and she let him touch her foot without screaming bloody murder. He didn't think it was broken either, but becasue it was bruised, swollen and she hadn't walked on it all day we both decided we better have it checked out.
Getting her first x-ray. She looks happy, but was crying the next minute because we had to touch her foot to position it for the x-ray
She was a drama queen the rest of the night and was taking advantage of mommy babying her. She insisted on being carried everywhere. We got the results and it wasn't broken, surprise surprise, but I needed to be sure for my own sanity since we were going out of town.
Gavin wanted ice cream and to play on the toys at McDonald's for his date night. We were the only ones there in the play-place so we had it all to ourselves for talking,  tag and tickle wars.

On a sad not, I got a phone call on the way home from Utah. It was Gavin and I could tell something was wrong. I asked him and he started crying and told me that Fireball (his tarantula) had died.  I noticed Fireball wasn't himself this week. He wasn't moving around much and I fed him two crickets and they were still alive a few days later which is unusual.

I wanted to hug and cuddle with Gavin so bad, I wanted to kiss his tear streamed face and tell him it was going to be OK but I was over an hour away. I felt so bad for not being there, but realized I can't always be there for everything even though I want too. We talked about it for awhile and then I gave daddy specific instructions to help him feel better.

On a sillier note this is what my husband looks like after he gets out of the shower and fluffs his beard and hair.
He is on a mission not to shave or cut his hair until he loses 50 lbs. Heaven help me!!

Boise (aka Kitchen Remodel take 1)

I have been wanting and needing to replace my cabinets in my kitchen for a long time, they are so worn out. They are the original to the house built in 1959 and need some serious help. They don't close properly because they have so many coats of paint on them (only 1 from us), the fronts of some of the drawers have fallen off when we pull them open, and the drawers leave sawdust on the things in the cupboard below them every time I pull a drawer open because they are so worn out. They are also so old that no matter how much I clean then they still seem and look dirty.

A girlfriend is remodeling her entire kitchen, that in my opinion doesn't need remodeled, but I am the lucky recipient of her "old" cabinets. We offered to come help her take them out and she gave them to us for free!
Here are a few pictures of them. I can't wait to show you pictures of them in my kitchen.

This is the only picture I took of the entire process and it was the first one we took down. After that we were busy demoing and loading them into the trailer for the ride home. We got there around 5:30 and we were done a little after nine and that included stopping to eat dinner.
We stayed the night at Char's house, we went out to breakfast the next morning, visited my cousin Krystee and her family and then headed home.
Somewhere in Idaho

We decided to take the scenic route home for a change of scenery.
We stopped in Arco to stretch and get some dinner. I can officially say that I have eaten at Pickles Place now.
We bought some huge pickles for the kids.

Thank you to my dad for lending us his trailer to haul the cabinets in and for picking Gavin up from school, oh and getting the kids suitcase that I forgot at my house so they weren't naked on Saturday.

Thank you to my parents and my sister for watching my kids (at the last minute because of flaky people) so that we could even go! You guys are awesome and I LOVE YOU!!

WARNING: You may not want to answer your phones if we call because is could be us asking for help to demo our kitchen, replace the floors, paint and put the new cabinets in! ; )

April Fool's

I took a lot of slack for not playing any pranks at work on April Fool's day so I ended up getting them anyway, still in April just on a different day so they weren't expecting it. I did all the prep work at home and then did all this on my lunch break. (There weren't any surgeries this day so I was the only nurse there, I had to be there to do patient histories, EKG's and labs, so I pretty much had the place to myself).
I brought Chloe's Barbie head and used a pillow and rolled blankets to make a fake patient. I put here in a bay and closed the curtain so they could find her in the morning.
I opened the curtain later to take this picture and even jumped a little myself even though I knew she was there.
I couldn't figure out how to take this with my face in it and still see what was on the mirror, but when you put your face to hit it gives you glasses and a mustache.
I decorated the men's locker room in princess vinyl
I changed all the spelling on the surgery board
Katerack is really spelled Cataract
I did it to Hansen's board too
Lapp Coalee - Lap Chole
Herkneeuh - Hernia
Anorektal Eggzam- Anorectal Exam
Cullenoscopee - Colonscopy
(Twilight version, get it?)
I put a snake under a pillow, but put the pillow at the bottom of the bed so the am nurse would move it prior to a patient coming in
Put fake spilled whiteout in the candy drawer
Made copies of the bears and put in the copier. I wanted to make copies of my face but I couldn't get the copier open far enough to get my head in there.
I restock the refrigerator in PACU
"Warning for David: Zero does NOT mean Zero Caffeine"
(Dave thought Coke Zero meant Zero caffeine a few weeks ago)
Bree hates clowns so I left her a pair on her scanner
I added an ugly Easter flower and GI Joe riding a rooster to Monica's office

I added a couple of tacky floral pictures to Joanns office

I also updated the PACU desk with some shiny chrome
(note to self, if you are going to do this, do not use cheesy dollar store aluminum foil, it rips too easily and doesn't fold and shape like you need it to)
I left some bugs under the beds (but made sure they were beds that would get moved before patients would see them)
I added a sleeping kitten to the waiting room and it stayed there for days before anyone noticed.
I left a bowl of candy in the break room but it had a special surprise. It had M&M's, Reese's pieces, and Skittles all mixed together. Not a good combination together.
I left a "urine" (Mtn Dew) specimen in the break room fridge
A few bug and spider surprises
I also put a fake fly in the paper towels
This use to day "Office Staff, Pre Op and OR Staff" but I made some changes
I left a "Certificate of Achievement" for my supervisor. We laughed because it didn't say what it was for.
I left an eight legged friend in the toilet paper in the bathroom
This is the ONLY door to the restroom
To be nice and to make up for all the pranks I played I left them a Real Non-prank treat in the bottom of the drug box for them to find at the end of the day when they did the count. : )

Maybe next year they won't harass me so bad for not doing anything.
