Uncle Berry's

We picked huckleberries on Saturday. It had been raining earlier that morning and then rained a little more while we were picking, but we still had fun.
On the way up there Mason asked where we were going and Chloe said, "going to Uncle Berry's" instead of "going to pick Huckleberries". We had a good laugh with that one!

All ready to pick!
Finally found some.
It was really picked over so we had to hike up the hill a bit until we started finding bushes that had a lot on them.

Moments like these where I see big brother helping little brother just melt my heart and make me so proud to be their mom

Cody picking berries and Chloe squishing them

They were excited because they were so tough they could move a tree by themselves
The boys were great pickers and actually put more in the bucket than they ate
~melting heart~

This is towards the end when Gavin started getting bored. He dumped all his berries into my bucket and started goofing off.

This face says it all, time to go home

All wet and muddy and ready to go home
My shoes were so wet that water would squish between my toes with every step and my pants were wet clear up to my pockets and were so heavy that they wouldn't stay up. Before we got in the van I took all the kids shoes, socks and pants off so they had a more comfortable ride home and I may or may not have done the same thing but I'll never tell ; )

We got quite a few for the short amount of time we were up there
YUMMY!!

Life of Fry...

Working with my sister at the Idaho Eye Center
How lucky am I?
P.S. She is a Chick-Fil-A Addict!!
Chloe puts on a different pair of shoes out of her closet every day after she wakes up from her nap. This particular day it was her Hello Kitty boots.
I found Gavin "napping" in Chloe's crib.
(I know she hasn't slept in it for over a month and it's still set up, we are not lazy, we are just busy!)
Brigham and Bailee turned 2!!
Happy Birthday to my favorite twins!!
All the kids ended up with tattoos while we were camping and Gavin asked me to take pictures of them before they wore off.
Chloe insisted that she didn't need help getting into bed one night. Cody and I found her asleep on the stairs later that night.

Gavin wanted his bread "warm" so while I was showering (aka mom's busy so let's cause havoc) Gavin put it in the microwave to warm it up. The entire upstairs smelled like melted plastic and he finally fessed up and showed me the burnt bread in the garbage and the melted plate in the garbage out in the garage. He said he meant to only heat it for 19 seconds but ended up with 91 instead.
Aunt Patricia and I went on an all day extravaganza looking for a campsite for our reunion next year. We can both now say that we have been to the Kilgore store, been on miles upon miles of unpaved roads and had to follow an obnoxious cow down the road because he ran down the middle instead of moving over to the side so we could pass him.
Gavin wanted to come watch me play softball, but instead spent the entire time watching the skateboarders.
He ended up with 4 pairs of pajamas on this night. This wasn't even all of them, he kept putting more on. He didn't complain the next morning, but I'm sure he was so hot that night.
Once again I was showering (aka mom's busy so let's cause havoc)and when I got out Gavin had taped Chloe's mouth shut and both of the kids hands together.
Later that morning we were running errands and at our first stop I realized what shoes the kids were wearing. I guess next time when I tell them to get their shoes on I need to be a little more specific! We got lots of double takes, smiles, giggles and comments that day.
Then while they were suppose to be playing in the toy room they were really into my storage closet (in the toy room, so much for kid proof locks) getting into everything and came out dressed like this.
And last but not least.
Gavin gets to watch a movie when the little kids are napping. This is what he watched the last 4 days: Deadliest Tornadoes, Deadliest Volcanoes, Colossal Squid and Wild Krats!! Gotta love this kid!

Butikofer Family Reunion 2013

Buttermilk Group Campground, Island Park

July 17-21, 3013
79 in attendance
(83 if you count soon-to-be-born babies!)
Theme: Heritage/Ancestors

Fun:
Chloe eating a banana and chilling with mommy in the hammock
My hubby brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers
I've been trying one new recipe every camping trip. This trip we made honey lime shrimp kabobs with a side of grilled asparagus. One word: DELICIOUS!!
Faith asked me to paint her arm, and then Bailey wanted the same thing and before I knew it there was a line of people that all wanted this design on their arms.
Paint Fight
Faith painted Mason and Chloe's hands red so then I took Mason's hands and rubbed them all over Faith's face and she grabbed my arm with her red painted hands, etc etc, this was the end result. Good thing it washed off
Faith after I got her with Mason's hands
Justin pulling Mason around on a car in the wagon
Mason, Chloe and Madisen in my super popular favorite chair

(the newest member of our crazy family)
Mason riding his "donkey"
They were really just sticks, but we didn't have the heart to tell him
The kids playing with the crawdad's

They caught them the night before. Gavin ended up in the water after Bailey bumped into him so he was wet clear up to his waist. We tried to tell him you can catch them from the dock, but he wouldn't listen to us.  ; )
 Look closely at Teagan's shoulder
My toothless, no fear boy
We had another horseshoe tournament but this was the only picture I ended up with. Aunt Susan was my partner and Uncle Keith was Cody's. Aunt Paige and Brad ended up winning the tournament.
I'm pretty sure cell phones (especially "smart" ones) didn't even exist when I was their age and look at them! So crazy! I'm pretty sure most of them can navigate one better than I can.
My sister Karen bringing sexy back!
Don't worry it's water not bubbles. What can I say, he was thirsty!
Gavin
 Madisen, Chloe and Megan
Bailee
Somebody loves cheeseballs!!
Water:
Gavin and I went out in the raft and when we were done we jumped off the end of the dock together. So.much.fun!!! I love how your kids turn you into kids again : )

Megan and Chloe had no interest in getting wet so they just hung out in the boat on the dock
Mason, Megan and Chloe
Dad pulling tubers
Found this, not sure who took it, but her I am!
Faith and Taylor after grandpa flipped them off the tube

Jeremy dumping water on my mom v.e.r.y.  s.l.o.w.l.y. !!
He did the same thing to me. It's so much worse that way.
Shower
They like the baths a lot better

Four Wheeling

Chloe, Bailee and I went on a Girls Only ride.
Just a random cool stump we found
Chloe, Megan, Bailee, Mason and Brigham
I took multiple pictures and never did get a single one of all of them looking!
Crazy Kids!
I'm pretty sure they are going to be known as the Ferocious Five when they get older. They already egg each other on and get into all sorts of trouble together.
Bailee
(dye her hair brown and she looks just like me when I was her age)

Sleeping

Mason is a thumb sucker when he sleeps and he is NOT quiet about it. It sounds like....I don't even know what to compare it to....it's terrible! So terrible that Cody and I couldn't even go to sleep without gagging because of the sound. We would pull his thumb out of his mouth and once we got all settled and snuggled into bed he would start up again. So this was our solution. We put a rubber band around the sleeve of his pajamas so he couldn't suck it. Mean? Yes! But parents who don't get any sleep are really mean too!
Mason and Chloe each had two glow-in-the-dark bracelets on their hands when they fell asleep. The next morning Chloe had all four of them in her hand.
This is how Gavin fell asleep by the fire, ouch!
This was Gavin the next night.

Costumes

Our theme was Heritage/Ancestors and since we thought it would be inappropriate to dress as Adam and Eve and only wear fig leaves, we decided to do cavemen instead.

Madisen and Megan

Dad and Mom
My entire Caveman Family

Since Cavemen don't talk we instead told Caveman jokes like:

Why did the Caveman cross the road?
Because he hadn't caught and domesticated the chicken yet

What music do Cavemen enjoy?
Rock Music

What do Paris Hilton and Cavemen have in common?
They both like to go clubbing

What did the caveman give his wife on Valentine’s Day?
 Ughs and kisses.

We also did a short skit:

We all stood in a half circle saying "Ugh" to each other (because cavemen don't talk) and then my nephew said, "Ugh-Ugh" and my brother clubbed him and said, "Hey, don't change the subject!"

The Gray's dressed up as their Scottish ancestors
Keith's Family
Aunt Patricia talked about Grandma Butikofer when she was a kid and told stories and other facts that we didn't know about her. It was really hard to see her in Grandma's clothes though, it really made me miss her because I still remember her wearing those same exact things.
Jeff's Family had Robin Hood ancestry
Uncle Kelly talked about Christopher (it was spelled differently but I can't remember) Wadsworth
My Crazy Mom
The Merry Men in TIGHT tights!!
Garet, Jeff and Jared
The newly weds!
We played some good pranks on them.

The first night we stole their pillow and left a note that said:

You may find that your pillows are gone,
To get them back you must sing a song.
Go around camp from person to person,
To find out where your pillows are lurkin'.

Then they had to walk around camp and sing before they were told if that person had their pillow

The second night we stole their bags of clothes and left a note that said:

Newly Weds = Clothing Optional

We also tied their tent closed with fishing line

We forgot to get them the third night, but was planning on taking their tent and hiding it and they had to leave early so we didn't get to make up for it on the last night. They we good sports about it, but they knew they had it coming. You can't be newly weds and expect nothing to happen, at least not it our family!

The Relay Race
First you had to put on the overalls
Catch a water balloon in a handkerchief
Throw the ball in the basket
 Hula Hoop 3 times
Crawl under the picnic tables and then run back to the tree.

Gavin was the first one to do it and after that they decided to have the kids take the coveralls off after they got them on and then finish the relay so Gavin did it the hard way, but he still ended up winning : )

Awards
Cody and Uncle Keith won the award in horseshoes for "Graceful Loss". It should have been called we cried fowl and whined and cheated! Never a dull moment!!

Gavin with his Gold Medal for 1st place in the relay
Mason got a gold medal for running and Chloe got a participation medal
