Holy Updates Batman!!

To put things simply, life has been CRAZY lately! Mostly good with some bad. It's our everyday lives with summer fun, hospital visits, birthday parties, garden weeding, bike rides!  Here's a rundown of what's been going on mingled with lots of random pictures!
This is bad thing #1. I smashed my finger in the garage door, not the little man door, the BIG car door and it hurt like H-E-double hockey sticks! I thought for sure I was going to lose my nail, but it's been a couple of weeks and it's still attached and not nearly as purple as it is in the picture.
Bad thing #2: My dad went in for heart surgery and to make a long story short they ended up aborting the surgery and he ended up in the ICU with his breathing tube still in for about a week. He ended up being in the hospital for nearly 2 weeks and is finally home! So it had a happy ending. We made a lot of trips to the hospital those two weeks. I'm so glad that I still have my dad around! Thank you everyone for all your prayers and support!
Bad thing #3: WEEDS THAT WILL NOT GO AWAY!

We have also been very busy with something else that takes a lot of our time, but I can't quite let it all out of the bag just yet so stay tuned cuz it's going to be awesome!!

Now for the random pics I promised!
Push me higher!
He came out of his room dressed like this. A wetsuit, a snowsuit and snow boots!
Look what I found!
A baby bird in the front yard
You can't really tell, but it's a double rainbow
So pretty
Gavin had his backpack on and then wanted to help cook, but didn't want to take off his backpack
He got in the pool with his clothes on when I wasn't looking!
He was jumping from side to side over and over again
"Look at me mom! I'm all wet!"
I LOVE SUMMER!!!

Jefferson Lake

One of my girlfriends planned a Lake Day and it was a blast! The weather was hot, we had a good turnout and a lot of FUN! We built sand castles, floated in the rafts, swam out to the dock to go down the slide and relaxed and talked, all afternoon!
Gavin, Faith and Taylor with our AWESOME sandcastle!
Taylor being a typical big brother
Packing the buckets for the castle. Gavin got bored with it after a while so I took him out to the dock so he could go down the slide over and over again. He has no fear!
Sara, Me, Ashley, Kayla, Liz and Lindsey
(Still naked after skinny dipping! j/k)
Not to be outdone by the kids Cory, Oliver and Jason had to show us up with their MANLY SANDCASTLE SKILLS!
Still not sure how the mud got there, but it did.

Pioneer Parade

Our ward had a Pioneer breakfast and parade for the Primary kids on Saturday. We had breakfast outside.  I still believe that food is so much better when eaten outside (except in the winter)!! Then the kids jumped on their decorated bikes and went around the block.
I had no idea how to turn a bike into a covered wagon so we decided to make it into a horse instead. We forgot all about it until the night before after 10pm so this is what we ended up with.

Gavin and Kaylene. She lives across the street and would play with Gavin 24/7 if we would let her
Already a ladies man at 4 years old. Gavin had 3 little girls surrounding his bike and wanting to pet his horse and brush it's mane.
On the parade route.
Gavin kept asking me where the parade was, I told him he was the parade!

The Twins are Here!

My brother Paul and his wife Erin had their twins on Friday, July 22nd! They were a month early and came by C-section after some complications, but babies and mom are doing great. It looks like they are hooked to a million different things, but it's all monitors except for the oxygen and IV's.
Little Bailee came first weighing in at 3lbs 15 oz at 9:50 am
Brigham was next weighing in at 5lbs 5oz and born at 9:51am which means that little sis is really the big sis and can boss her younger brother around!

Congratulations to Paul and Erin!

Welcome to the family Brigham and Bailee!

Tautphus Park Zoo

We made another trip to the zoo. It was me, Gavin, Mason, Chloe and Hollie with her two kids, Addison and Brecken. The Lions were really active this time which was fun for the kids and even the adults when the female lion swatted the male lion ; )  We even got to the otter's just in time to watch them get fed and the Kookaburra's were out of control and so loud. If you don't know what I'm talking about then go to Youtube and check them out, they are awesome!
Gavin trying to get Chloe's attention (and Mason trying to get away)
It's working!
He had her laughing so hard that we were laughing!
The monkey's were so interactive. Addison and Gavin watched them forever
Gavin pushed Mason through the entire zoo. No one else was allowed! It was so cute!

Wolf Flatts

We haven't been camping nearly as much as we had planned at the beginning of the summer because we have had something every weekend, but we decided we are just going to have to miss some things and go anyway. We left on Friday and headed up to Wolf Flatts up above Heise. The mosquito's were crazy! We had to spray ourselves as soon as we got out of the truck and Cody still ended up with 5 bites right about his pants! The only thing we can figure out is they must have attacked him when he was bent over starting the fire and his shirt was up a little. LOL

Waiting on you daddy, we're ready
A waterfall we rode past

My little pocket Nikon does not do this justice. It was absolutely breathtaking. I LOVE the outdoors!
The river was so full. It was even running over the road in multiple spots it was so high.

Gavin built a new tooth out of him gum
My husband is such a sweetie! He picked this flower just for me : )
Something we came across on our adventures

Splash Park

Gavin loved the splash park this time. Last year he didn't like all the water everywhere, but this year he really got into all of it. He was going down the slide, standing under the bucket until it dumped on him and sitting on the water fountains a complete 180 from last year.

Lovin the slide

I LOVE MY BOY!!!
