Somewhere up in the hills

 Gavin's ready to go!
We followed Troy up to a large creek that split into two water falls and then turned into one creek again. It was so pretty although I may never go there again! It was a scary ride!
 Cody, Gavin and I
I carried Gavin over the first time, but I let Cody do it the second. One slip and you were going over the waterfall!

Gavin zapping me with his Lightening Power!
Although this picture does not do this DEADLY hill ANY justice, it is the reason why I probably won't be going back to the waterfalls anytime soon. It was scary enough going down it with brakes on the entire time, but going up was worse. Especially since Cody made me drive and I had him and Gavin behind me while I was trying to steer and keep the front wheels on the ground at the same time. Finally I stopped, Shay came and got Gavin and Cody and Troy held the front wheels down while I drove through the ruts, around the rocks and up the hill! Even dare devil Troy had a heck of a time getting up. I promise it was way worse than it looks. I'm usually not a chicken at all, but that scared me!
At the top of the hill all still alive!
Cody, Carl, Gavin, Troy and Shay
This has nothing to do with riding, but how often do you see two tractors passing each other on the highway!! LOL! Gotta love Archer, Idaho

Hair-larious!!!

You may not see what's so funny at first, but if you look really close...
Gavin has HAIR on his Chest!! LOL!

He had pancakes with plum jam  for breakfast that ended up on his chest and then he went outside and gave the dog a hug and VIOLA, Hairy Chest at age 4! His daddy is so proud!

Starlite Skating

Our summer party at the surgery center this year was at Starlite Skating. I use to go there all the time when I was little for our Honor Roll field trips. It was like a flashback to the 90's. Not much has changed since then!
Gavin got his skates on and made it 3/4 of the way around the rink with Cody and I on either side and decided he was done! We got him back to the carpet and he immediately kicked his skates off and went to the arcade games.
A little bit later he asked me to help him put his skates back on. Yippee! He still didn't want to leave the carpet, but hey, it was a start. He did pretty good once he figured out how they worked!

Finally out on the rink with mommy's help = D
 Look at him go!

This was the last time he let anyone help him.

He about hit the lady in the face with the limbo pole!
 Dr. Hansen!
We dared him to dress cowboy...and he did!
 How low can you go?
 Cody
I was teasing Raini that she was breaking the rules! The sign says "Do Not Carry Children While On Skates" which still may not be funny, but it is if you know she's expecting!!!

Crazy and Irresponsible

Most of you that know me know that I have been wanting a 4 wheeler FOREVER!!! I (we) have been putting off buying once because we want to adopt more kids, but have no idea how much it is going to end up costing us. It could be as little as $5,000 or over $20,000 per child so we have been very careful about the large expenses we make. As you all know from my very depressing blog (Imagine...) we had yet another opportunity to adopt fall through. I finally decided to heck with it and told Cody that we were going to go shopping for a 4 wheeler. If we couldn't adopt then I was at least I was going to get one of them! It obviously doesn't take the place of anther child, but at least we can finally have some fun while we are waiting!
We drove straight from Action Motor Sports to my sister in law Kaylee's where there is lots of room to ride and had it nice and muddy within an hour!
Alex & Madi (my nieces) and me!
On Tuesday we went riding up above Kelly Canyon with our friends Scott and Cassie. You can't see this kind of view from a car!
Gavin's first ride. He was staying the night at G&G's with cousins the night we bought it. He was super excited because it was black, his favorite color. His helmet is black too.

Carl and Caitlyn

Carl and Caitlyn were here from Tennessee. They only make it out about once a year so we went to visit them. I couldn't believe how much Caitlyn had grown up since we last saw her!
Caitlyn, Sydney and Gavin feeding the horses
We got a little bored so we decided to tie the kids to the trees! Actually it was their idea and we just went along with it. Sydney, McKell (texting), Gavin and Caitlyn.
Gavin thought this was the coolest thing since sliced bread!
Carl and Caitlyn
I had to get a close up of Caitlyn. She is so stinkin cute! I think she looks like a little miniature Snow White with her dark hair and porcelain face

Father's Day

Gavin absolutely LOVES his daddy and LOVES doing things with him. He was so excited when I let him pick out a Father's Day card for Cody all my himself although he was a little mad that I wouldn't by Cody the bright yellow rototiller that was outside of CAL Ranch!

 Opening his Father's Day Gift:
Hunting and Fishing License
Black licorice (his new obsession)
Saddle Soap (for his work boots)
(Weird combination I know but it's what he wanted)

Miscellaneous

Gavin has two favorite songs now. "Single Ladies" by Beyonce and  "Apologize by Timbaland. I got a video of him singing Apologize and he was doing awesome and singing along so good...until he had the camera by him and then he got distracted and shy.

Imagine...

Imagine with me for just a moment. Imagine just won the lottery (along with imagining pretend you also play the lottery), the BIG one and you have lots of "money" headed your way. It's really happening this time and nothing is going to get in your way. You are immediately so excited that you can't even stand it, you can't believe you have FINALLY won! (You have been playing for a VERY LONG TIME and patiently, sometimes impatiently waiting) You double check your ticket with the number on the television to make sure they really do match, and they do.

You start making plans on what you are going to do with the "money" that's headed your way. Lots of great and wonderful times are on their way. There will be vacations, laughing and lots of memory making. You start making plans and room for the wonderful things that are to come.

Finally the day comes to go collect your "money" and you are told "We made a mistake, you really don't have the winning numbers" and just like that it's all over. No "sorry" or anything. You are just left there standing completely empty handed and expected to be ok with it.

That's how I feel right now. Like I just won the Million Dollar Jackpot and then it was taken away, only in my real world it wasn't "money" it was my future family. I guess the third time wasn't a charm after all....

Indian Creek

We took our camper on it's maiden voyage last weekend. It was so comfortable, warm and cozy and so nice to finally have a camper again instead of just a tent. We even talked my parents into coming with us.
Our camp site from the cave Gavin and I hiked  to
We were disappointed when we got to it and realized how small it was. We were hoping to be able to go inside of it and do some exploring.
Roasting hot dogs with grandma and grandpa
 Going "exploring" again
It was so green (except for the snow!)
Future Blackmail Picture: I know I previously posted a pee picture, but this is my scrapbook so I can't exclude this. He does this ALL the time thanks to his daddy.
I got voted to get the 4 wheeler out of the truck because everyone else was too chicken!
(Yes, that means you mom and dad!)
 I did it!
Boy Scout Juice: Helping men start fires since the caveman
I guess I set my chair up on a slope because when I leaned back this is what happened!
I sure wish someone besides the dog would help me instead of taking pictures ; )
You can't see them, but Cody and Gavin hiked clear up to the tree line. Cody ended up carrying Gavin on his back most of the way up because it was so steep.
Every time we would take the 4 wheeler out Bud would follow us. He can keep up as long as you stay under 16 mph. Finally it got to be too much. We stopped so he could get a drink and he was no where to be found. We waited and waited. Finally Cody was getting ready to go get him when he came staggering around the corner like he was drunk. He walked right over to the creek and plopped right in it. He didn't even budge for almost 15 minutes. We went super slow back to camp and then tied him up so he could rest instead of following us because we love him and don't want anything to happen to him.

A couple of pics I took from the truck on the way out
See that big rain cloud? That's why we went home early!
