Merry Christmas!

I kept waking up all night because I was so excited for Christmas! Cody and I got up around 7 and went to get Gavin who was still sleeping away. I woke him up and told him it was Christmas and that he could rip open his presents now and that Santa had brought him something, but he didn't even care. He wanted us to leave him alone so he could go back to sleep. Finally I said "OK, you go back to sleep daddy and I are going to go open presents" and then he decided to get up and come with us. : )
Gavin got his "two blue guns" that he asked Santa for in his letter
Cody thinks this picture looks like Gavin is pooping bullets!
Mom, I think these are too big
Cody got a new coat, in his FAVORITE color, ORANGE!
 My little Mozart
Ever since I started doing Mystery Mondays this spring I love to cook new recipes. I never thought I would be asking for a cookbook for Christmas, EVER!, and now look at me! : )
Shooting the photographer with Gavin's gun! I'm not sure what's messier, my living room or my hair!

A Visit from Santa

Gavin had a surprise visit from Santa on Christmas Eve after he was in bed and all Gavin said to him was "GET OUT OF MY ROOM SANTA! GO BACK TO THE NORTH POLE!"
After Santa left his room:
Gavin: Where are Santa's Reindeer?
Me: They are up on the roof.
Gavin: Why?
Me: Because they have to stay outside
Gavin: Why?
Me: Because they are too big to fit in your room
Gavin: Why?
Me: They just are
Gavin: Oh, I see.
I couldn't let Santa leave without eating the cookies and milk we set out for him!

 They got pillow pets!
Gavin with "Bees Wax" by the Christmas Tree
To follow with our tradition Gavin got to open two presents from us on Christmas Eve. They are always his pajamas and a Christmas Book. This year he got Buzz Lightyear pajamas and the book "Llama Llama Holiday Drama". He has another Llama Llama book and he loves it.
We always have him put on his new pajamas and we sit on the couch and read his new Christmas book together, but this year he wanted to sit on the rug in his toy room and read it, silly kid!

"Santa is Mean" - Gavin

I had been excited to take Gavin to the mall to see Santa all month. When we were finally on our way I told him where we were going and he said he didn't want to go see Santa and when I asked him why all he said was "Santa is MEAN!" I don't know where he got that idea. Needless to say he had a letter that I helped him write for Santa and so I decided to give it a try anyway. We walked out of JCPenney and as soon as he realized where we were headed he stopped dead in his tracks and refused to go any further. I tried for a minute to convince him that he needed to give his letter to Santa, but he didn't care. So not wanting to traumatize him for life we decided to skip it and we took his letter to Santa's mailbox instead.
Santa's Mailbox
His letter. He asked Santa for "two blue guns"
(A two pack of Nerf guns he saw at Toy's R Us a while back)

Letter to Santa, Check!!

Meet Scout

My brother and sister-in-law got a new dog, Scout. He's a Great Pyrenees and he is GINORMOUS already and he's still a "puppy". Gavin loved him and kept saying "He likes me mom!"
Looks like Scout won this round.

Wanted: Security System!

We came home from our ward Christmas party only to discover that our house was obviously broken into and this is how we knew:
Upside down family photo and the other pictures on the wall were tipped like there had been an earthquake
 Turned around rooster plates
 Tipped over stocking hangers
Some of our nutcrackers were turned around
Upside down plates, turned around nativity along with lots of other things that I didn't get pictures of. We are pretty sure we know who did it after talking to a few possible suspects, so BEWARE Paul & Erin we know where you live and we are going to get you back!!! (Insert evil villainous laugh here!)

Yummy in my Tummy!

Mom decided it was time to make fudge and today was the day!
It was also the day that Madisen decided to start binge eating ; )
 Make it look pretty!
How many people does it take to watch the pot boil?
My poor neglected sister joining in on the fun!
We took turns holding the thermometer and stirring
 Hot! Hot! Hot!
We made two batches of fudge (one with nuts for the NUTS! and one without for us sane family members) and a double batch of Peanut Brittle both of which I didn't take pictures of the end result, sorry!
