Porter Park

All the cousins (minus Maycee) at grandma's before leaving: Savannah, Kessler, Madilyn, Alyssa, Alex, Gavin, Taiya, Aidyn & Jake (friend). Sitting: Drake, Isaiah & Treysen
Drake running through the water while Luke and Isaiah watch
Aidyn, Alex and Madi on the slide. You can't really see it, but the look on Aidyn's face is hilarious!
Gavin finally getting brave and touching the water. He loves the water every where else, but never wants to get in it when we come here. He still only got his arms and feet wet, but at least it's a start.
Aidyn trying to stop the water from coming, good luck buddy!

What could possibly have so many kids so entranced? Ants eating popcorn!

Twin Bridges

This picture doesn't really do it justice
A mommy moose with her baby
Gavin all wet after falling in the water. We kept telling him not to lean over the edge of the dock and of course being the 3 year old that he is didn't listen. I had just finished saying "He's going to fall in" when he really did and we couldn't help but laugh. (It was only 2 feet deep). He came out of the water and said "I'm all wet!" We had a big group of us there for FHE and he wasn't the only one to take the plunge of the tend of the dock.

That's me under the big splash of water on the yellow slide. I'm in the middle of getting the wedgie of my life along with about 3 gallons of water up my nose. It was super fun, you should try it

Girls Night Out

I love having a girls night out especially when I go with FUN people and go to a FUN place. We skipped the state and went to West Yellowstone, MT to the Playmill to see "The Foreigner" and it was a blast!

We're having fish for dinner! ; )

Waiting for the big one
Daddy showing Gavin the ropes (not that he needs it, he can cast out his line and reel it in all by himself now)
His FIRST fish!! It was 11 inches! He was so excited, and so were we!
I got another one!
He caught 2 fish pretty much all by himself. I asked him later how many he caught and he said "Three!" The wild fish tales have begun already.
The proud fisherman showing off his catch
A close up. The biggest one was his first fish
Playing with his dinner
  • Gavin: Look mom flamingos
  • Mom: Those are pelicans
  • Gavin: Oh yeah, pelicans. That's what I said

Annual Trip to the Cave

We do this every year, Glow in the Dark Hide n Seek. Each time we have the regulars as well as a set of new brave souls that want to see the "fuzzy white stuff" and act like a bunch of goofy teenagers all over again. Anyone is welcome to come next year...call us if you DARE!

Coming back from the dock with the slide. Gavin went down the slide twice all by himself. On the way back to shore he jumped out of the boat and as soon as I pulled him back in he jumped out again. He was loving it. He is so brave. I'm glad he never goes near water without his life jacket. Can I just add how much Jefferson Lake (formally Rigby Lake) has changed since I was in high school? There is real sand on the beaches and grass, yes real grass, that you can lay on instead of the prickly weeds that would get stuck in your socks. It was hard to believe that it is the same place.

Playing in the Rain

Cody came home from Pack meeting and found us playing in the rain outside, we were pretty wet! I had a hard time convincing Gavin it was OK and FUN to play in the rain, but by the time we were done he was standing in the rain with his arms out and running through the sprinkler at the same time.
Apparently bedtime didn't come soon enough

In case you were wondering...

Gavin informed me the other day that the Tickle Monster is blue with white eyes and white hair. He (the Tickle Monster) also goes to the store and buys bananas for Gavin. Now you know!
