Beulah Mae or Buford Laverl

It's officially out! My sister and her husband are expecting their first and we are all so excited! As soon as Cody found out he started brainstorming for names . He was just trying to be nice and help so they would have one less thing to worry about, but Karen totally rejected the names which broke Cody's heart and she even told me that I wasn't allowed around her baby if Cody was with me. So instead he decided that the "awesome" names he had ever so carefully picked out would just have to be nicknames because in Cody's world no one goes by their given names. Here are some examples:

Me (Teri): Jose, Mamma Bear, Chica
Gavin: Freddy Bacon, Beezus
My dad, David: Davey Craig
Karen, my expecting sister: Wooden Shoes

After looking at my picture of Karen & Chet (see above) I decided that the names he picked out are actually well-suited and fit quite well with their looks and lifestyle.

If it's a girl it will be

Beulah Mae

If it's a boy it will be

Buford Laverl

Let me know what you think!
P.S. If you want to see the picture of Beulah or Buford (the ultrasound pic) go to my sister's blog @ www.cawley2006.blogspot.com or just click on Cawley Craziness under my blog list

Gavin is in Love!

When I picked Gavin up from the sitter's today he came up to me and said, "Mamma Anna." I thought he was trying to tell me that he wanted a banana, but then Nikki (Gavin's sitter) told me that Anna was the little girl next to me. Nikki also said that he played by her all day and whenever Anna's brother took something from her or was being mean he would take back whatever the brother had taken or protect her. Awwwww! He didn't want to leave either. He kept going over and sitting by her and kept saying "Mamma, Anna!" It was so cute. Anna has been at Nikki's since before he started going there so I'm not sure what this sudden obsession is, but it sure is cute! It will be interesting to see what happens when he goes back on Monday!

Gavin is 23 months!

What Gavin did last month:
He has decided that one hat is not enough, he needs two! He is also really into Caitlyn (our friends little girl). He calls her "Baby" and likes to hug her and tries to play with her even though she is not as cooperative as he would like her to be.

He climbed up on the kitchen chair and found my candy bar and helped himself. It was even wrapped, but somehow figured out it was candy!

He still loves to take a bath and every once in a while I put some bubbles in for him, but I have to really watch him because he tries to eat them!

He also tries to eat his lotion!

"Kmart sucks Ray!"

Superbowl Party!

Testing mom's patience yet again!

Shower cap and crackers go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly!

Anytime he finds a hat of any kind he puts it on.
He has also discovered how to turn on the microwave in the Man Cave
so we have to unplug it when we are not using it.

Signing his name on his Elmo Valentine's for the cousins and Grandma & Grandpa's

He found the baby powder and it was on the couch, all over the floor, all over his puzzles, me and my pillow(I fell asleep on the couch), and of course himself, but boy did my house smell yummy! Like lavender!

He fell asleep in the middle of the floor, but not without an arsenal of "Ginky's"
He has one in his mouth, one in his right hand, and two on his left side.

He found these and put them on all by himself!
I was laughing so hard!

Just driving around the kitchen since it's to cold outside

He took my bra off the stack of folded laundry and decided to try it on for size!

That's All Folks!
Tune in next month for another installment of
"What Gavin did last month!"

Melva Jean turns 50!!!

For those of you who don't know my mom turned 50! Her real name is Jolene, but years ago I nicknamed her Melva Jean (not really sure why, it just sounded good at the time) and it stuck.

Melva with her new walker and her extra big glasses to help her see better.
It was a surprise party and we were actually able to pull it off. My dad took her to dinner to get her out of the house and then we came in, decorated, got everyone in the house and then my dad brought her home and made her close her eyes and she had no idea we were all there until she opened her eyes and we all said, "SURPRISE!!" It was so much fun! A bunch of us tried to wear as much black as we could.

I made my mom a "special bra" for her drooping boobies. Kenny (my bro.) tried it on for size.

Her favorite cake, German Chocolate with gross frosting!

The centerpiece:
Prunes, hemorrhoid cream, denture kit and cream, muscle rub and a pill box

Girls Weekend in Jackson

Every year over President's Day weekend it's a Girls Only weekend and I joined in on the fun this year. We left on Friday afternoon and got home Sunday afternoon. No husbands, no dirty diapers, no housework, it was awesome!

Trish & I in downtown Jackson

This is all of us on Taggart Lake in Grand Teton National Park. It's about 6 miles south of Jenny's Lake. We snowshoed in almost 2 miles, ate lunch, took pictures and then headed back.
Back row(L to R): Pam, Heather, Becky, Athena, Marilyn, Pippy, Ashely & Terri
Front row (L to R): Angie, Trish, Teri & Susan

Myself, Trish, and Pam (Trish's sister from Tennessee) on Taggart Lake.

If it was a clear day you would be able to see the Tetons

We all took turns posing for a few pictures on the way back

Cody was completely convinced that we were going to get eaten by a bear while we were snowshoeing. In actuality the only wildlife we ran into were a couple of birds. When we got back we went on a sleigh ride through the Elk Refuge. At the visitors center they had a stuffed bear, so I took this picture and sent it to Cody. He has never called me back so fast!!!

We also posed in front of it for fun. Trish's picture turned out funnier than mine so you get to see her's instead! It was a fun trip and we had a great time!

Super Bowl XLIII

I know the Super Bowl was almost a week ago, but it's been a busy week. So here are a couple of pictures from the big day. Gavin & I dressed up a little for the occasion. I tried to get him to "show muscles" for the picture, but he just looked at me like I was crazy, so here ya go anyway!
